Dr. Lindsey said Dr. Charles lost his license

Recommended Posts

I'm considering getting a hair transplant surgery soon, and today I went in for a consultation to the nearest recommended hair transplant specialist - Dr. Lindsey. He seemed very knowledgeable, talented and honest about what to expect. During the consultation, I mentioned that I had previously visited Dr. Glenn Charles' office for a consultation, years ago, and Dr. Lindsey replied, "Did you know, he lost his license?..." He said it was something to do with prescribing patients too much or too strong drugs for their pain.

I was really surprised to hear this, because my impression of Dr Charles from years ago was that he was also very honest, and ultimately a trustworthy choice. Dr. Lindsey said this was public knowledge. I would also expect this, but after some basic google searches, I can't find anything about this, and Dr. Charles' business seems to be thriving.

Does anyone have any information about this? If this is true, then well I guess it is what it is. But if it is not true, then I find it concerning that Dr. Lindsey would attack a peer like that. I'm not really sure what to make of it. Any thoughts on this?

I believe there is a database for your state that you can look up providers and see if any action has been taken against a doctor by the states medical board. I'd give that a shot and see what comes up.

I think it's kind of a jerk thing to do,  to create a title like this when you could have just googled it, blowing up Dr. Lindsey's mention if it for all to see.

My knee jerk reaction is that it is just tacky.

Yeah, I agree.  He could have just said that he 'met with a recommended doctor who told me...".

Let’s not jump to conclusions. Last time somebody accused a doctor of losing their license, it was simply a matter of not renewing the license  in a timely manner. We will investigate this but in the meantime, I am locking this topic so that people don’t unfairly malign a good doctor’s name. We will get to the bottom of it and find out. Thanks for letting us know.

Onwards,

Bill

I am also not real thrilled that Dr. Lindsey  was brought into this topic. We will be sending him an email as well  to make sure that he wasn’t just quoted out of context.   Again, let’s not assume the worst and let’s actually work to find out the facts before jumping to conclusions.
