27 years old white male with receding hair line and diffused thinning hair from front toward the crown. His hair is black, coarse, straight with good laxity. The total area of thinning hair is 161 cm2.
He underwent FUT 4,014 grafts (1-hair = 574 grafts, 2-hairs = 2526 grafts, 3-hairs = 914 grafts) roughly 8,368 hairs were transplanted without complication. The pre-op and 3 years 3 months post op pictures were shown. He is happy with the result, but his hair loss is still progressing. He was prescribed finasteride and low dose oral minoxidil and he will let me know in 6 months.
Hey mate, you're definitely correct.
It's a hard question to summarise, especially when I don't really know what I'm asking, haha. It's hard being on one side of the world.
Most likely FUE dude, but ideally I would want the procedure this year. Yeah for sure, I've crunched some of the figures and they are pretty massive due to the Aussie dollar.
Matt is right in regards to a lot of the hair looking weak but have you looked into something like PRP to try to strengthen the existing hair you have left? There seems to be no definitive studies on it but you do see good results from it on some of these sites as well. You may need to seriously consider not ruling out FUT due to your level of loss. For extensive loss such as your own people usually advocate for FUT because you get the most hairs out of it during mega sessions and the graft rate sounds slightly better than FUE. I also hate the idea of a scar but would you rather have to grow your hair a little longer but have the most hair on your head as possible or have tiny scars and a little less coverage on top? All things to weigh up.
