Well! I did it. About 8 hours of surgery and I now have a much better hairline and a few less thousand euros than I did before. The meds are starting to wear off now and my head feels like it has been kicked (although it could be worse and I imagine before tomorrow morning it will feel worse too). My hairline, as I mentioned in my other post, is now like my 24 year old hairline which is not a straight one but I do not think a straight one would suit me and I have never had one anyway, even as a teenager. It really suits my face. There is almost no redness and no swelling (as yet). I haven't seen the incision yet and need to go back in the morning tomorrow for the first wash and for them to examine everything.

They have a team of techs who do the implants and they are really good. Three work on you at once and so it doesn't take that long. It is quite boring though. I fell asleep at one point. You get lunch at around 13:30.

The pain is actually getting worse and I have a bit of buyer's remorse now for the second time today (the first time being when I was sitting in the chair and I just thought "you look good with your head shaved, why are you doing this? It is so extreme").

Still haven't decided if I will upload pics or not (and I won't have any until tomorrow anyway) but if you have any questions, queries or well wishes, I am all ears.

Thanks guys! The pain is actually much better today. I thought it would be worse. I slept sitting up (semi-sitting up - more like inclined). The pain is only at the back of the head but it also itches. Either way, I went for the first wash today and had another look and I am still impressed now. Can't wait for the regrowth in 3-5 months.

Happy growing, who was your surgeon?

They are in Switzerland and the law is the same. You can go on to the site @Gasthoerer mentions and also some of the French ones. Dr Feriduni himself mentioned them alongside H&W as being excellent choices and a world class clinic so they are quality.

@Melvin-Moderator - as mentioned in the title of the thread, it was done at the Hattingen Hair Clinic in Switzerland

Right, but who was the actual surgeon? Is Hattingen like Bosley? I'm eager to see the work wish you the best.

Yes, and for the next few weeks you're sure to have more buyer's remorse.  But you went to a great clinic after doing a lot of research and multiple consultations and you're likely to end up with a great result.  Congratulations and best of luck!

Hattingen is nothing like Bosley. Hattingen is the European H&W. Specialist for high NW strip cases (and like HW they added FUE some years ago).

Never heard of them, but I look forward to seeing their results.

hey man, don't second guess your decision now it's done, you made the right choice if it's going to bring you more happiness and self esteem, as far as the pics go you could always put some up anonymously, meaning just hide your face or whatever if that's the concern, we are all on here to support one another in this so no one will have anything bad to say - just support and advice.

Thanks Kiwi guy. I am not per se, it is just hard to be overly happy with the pain/discomfort and lack of sleep. It will pass though, I am sure.

I have seen enough post-op procedures to know mine has been a good one so I am not concerned about people saying it is a bad one. The problem is the internet is a big place and you never know who is looking and I may be recognized, blurred out face or not.

I've just seen the incision for the first time too. Got somebody to take a photo of it. Impeccable work. Once the hair that he shaved to cut the incision grows back, it will be undetectable. Ultra-thin and no inflammation etc. Some bits have scabs/dried blood on it still but this will come off as I am washing it 2-3 times a day.

Showed some pics to two close friends and a girl. They were really impressed too and said it looks great. So glad I went ahead with this. Just need to get the staples out now so I can cut the back and sides and wait for the grafts to fall out and then regrow again. And to stop banging my head on things.

They are not present in the English speaking fora. You have to go onto the German and French speaking ones. Dr Feriduni put them in the same class as H&W when I went for a consultation with him. Really excellent results.

Not strictly true this as there are lots of examples of their excellent work on hairlossexperiences.com forum which is an English speaking one.

For what it's worth I personally rate them very highly indeed and have seen their work in person...Excellent clinic that's up there with the elite imo

Yeah ive only found a few examples of Hattingen's work but everything sounds like its going great so far (well besides the 2 graft loss that is so thank god it wasn;t worse.) Please do think about sharing any pics if you can, and congrats!

Have a look on Hairlossexperiences there's a lot of examples of their work.

Congratulations on your recent surgery with them by the way Trix dude you chose an outstanding clinic...there's only a handful of clinics worldwide I'd let operate on me and their one of them.

Best wishes BN
