Regular Member grantleebuffalo Posted November 22, 2018 Regular Member Share Posted November 22, 2018 Hey there! Long time reader, i decided to post my HT experience here. The main reason being the subpar results from ASMED that have been posted on here lately. I want some assurance that my progress is coming alone just fine, haha. As for me, i am 24 yo. , from germany and i suffered hairloss since i got 20 or so. As I always had a high hairline from birth and relatively thin hair it became an issue really quick. I decided to go for a hair transplant with ASMED because of the good results i have seen (JeanLDD&hamburger among others) and the relatively low costs for such an institution. I don't think i have to say too much about the experience in turkey. Everyone was super friendly, i felt comfortable the whole time and the Radisson Blue was great. Those were luxurious 3 days. Well, except for the food. I don't think turkish cuisine and I will ever become friends haha I was instantly satisfied with Dr. Koray Erdogans plans for the hairline and agreed right away. He told me that my donor capacity was around 8000 (can't remember exactly) and that i am most likely able to cover all the area that i could lose in the future, this was a very welcome surprise to me. He told me to take finasteride for the crown/midscalp area which is obviously thinning too, as you can see in the pictures below, and that it might just make the difference i want for now. I wouldn't mind a second or third HT in the future but i want to be set for now and a solid hairline is most important to me. The procedure was mostly relaxing, except for when the anesthetic lost its effect but you just tell them to give you some more and you're good. I am 97 days post op as of now and on finasteride with no sides (i guess) some pictures pre op/postop:

Senior Member Legend007 Posted November 22, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted November 22, 2018 Even though people look down on techs doing the extractions .. the asmed clinic, have some great techs doing those extractions .. I’m quite amazed at how small those puncture holes are.. it’s not easy extracting that many fue grafts in a single procedure n not looking like u got blasted by shotgun pellets.. takes great skill n attention to detail to do that .. Senior Member BjornBorg Posted November 22, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted November 22, 2018 Thank you for detailing your journey. Wish you all the best! Do you have the pictures with the drawn on hairline? Much appreciated. My results - 2486 grafts FUE
Regular Member grantleebuffalo Posted November 22, 2018 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 22, 2018 sure, the area looks rather huge but i wasn't really completely bald except for the temples so i definitely think i should get an acceptable result. i does however look like i suffered some shock loss for i had more hair in that forelock, not sure if that will grow back.. i guess some loss is calculated though,

I know techs get bit of a bad rep but to be fair the donor and recipient areas for ASMED patients generally does always seem to look clean and on point in post op pictures, even when they are taken by the patients themselves. It's one reason I am considering them coupled with the fact I'll be requiring a large procedure.
Senior Member BlessUp Posted November 27, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted November 27, 2018 (edited) +1 on that. asmed and hasson and wong donors are so clean and small. i could show u post op pics of my donor area from my doctor that would make ur jaw drop. night and day difference but the doctors will of course take the credit when the donor looks non scar'd up but blame the patients body when they are scar'd to hell or suffer bad shockloss. its deff not the fact they use a non motorized extractor and and smaller diameter punch. 🤔 Edited November 27, 2018 by BlessUp

Regular Member grantleebuffalo Posted January 7, 2019 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 7, 2019 (edited) Ok guys i couldn't stay away. Quick update from 4 month 3 weeks before my more in-depth update in about a week. things in my head: - i really get positive vibes now - i feel like ending up with a sub par result is highly unlikely at this point - hairline design is pretty natural and irregular to me - what do you think? i noticed 2 or 3 multi grafts but none of them in the first row, i still regard them as wrongfully placed although i can easily live with them. no real issue. - the fact that i still wear a hat most of the time when i leave the house is mainly due to the fact that i can't use product until month 6 according to ASMED. i hate it. i can't wait for month 6 or even the coming 2-3 months, it will get so much better i think! - in harsh light i still see some redness and the lack of density pretty clearly but you can see that my hair structure is waaaay different, all that maturing in the coming months will work wonders! a big thank you all to the community, this forum is really a pleasure to have on this journey. only got the right side for now, will post more in a week. (pics are dry hair, first is unwashed for 2 days - natural light, second is post hair wash dry hair - very harsh light) EDIT: also i have to say it is such an epic feeling to have hair on this side where there never was hair before since my birth, hahaha. I always had that huge forehead, now it suits me way more. I still went with a rather conservative approach and would never go for a Brad Pitt-esque low hairline since i am VERY tall and i think that would only look ridiculous. This way it just fits the sophisticated nordic style i am rocking. haha. 😂😋 Edited January 7, 2019 by grantleebuffalo added info
Regular Member cali101 Posted January 7, 2019 Regular Member Share Posted January 7, 2019 Really impressive results at less than 5 months. You are going to have a great result. I do still see a little redness but i had same issue. It will either go away or your hair will thicken enough to block it within a month or so. What was your hair thickness? 1 https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/index.php?app=core&module=system&controller=redirect&url=https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/52355-asmed-dr-koray-erdogan-4264-grafts-july-2018/&key=74a57dbda1fbe0147b5dc0201016c88ccd710762fec105c09a25191ed0cbe1fd&resource=

Hey Mate, Looking great. I think the best idea would be to go away for a month, not even think about it and then come back and see the improvements. It will look even better when you see the difference from a month ago. Try not to obsess day to day over it, as you can see what that does to some forum members..not a good road to go down. I was told that i can use product (i had u-fue) but only on the areas outwith the recipient zone. I have managed to style my hair pretty much as normal.
Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted January 8, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 8, 2019 The hairline looks natural and already thickening up tremendously. To be honest, this has all the makings of a home-run. You may definitely end up going on the hall of fame. Happy for you man, now wheres my proper 12 whiskey lol. 1 I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. I do not receive any compensation from any clinic. My comments are not medical advice. Regular Member grantleebuffalo Posted February 13, 2019 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 13, 2019 (edited) 6 months post op (Hair in pics is washed, dry, took a nap so its messy, natural sunlight) quick pro/con: PRO: - feeling pretty damn well, only minor concerns - no sides on fin - got compliments from people already - when styled properly (messy in the pictures) it looks fantastic and i don't worry about it on a night out - 6 more months of improvement incoming! CON: - some doubles in hairline (asmed disappoints a bit in that regard) - low density / see through appearance in direct light - fin doesn't really improve anything IMHO - little anxious because of the poor recent asmed results All in all i think at 12 months everything will be fine. Want i want from the following 6 to 12 months: texture change in hair - so it is easier to handle, density improvements in hairline - especially temple corner left side and right side in general i doubt new hair will grow from now on - will the hair eventually provide enough coverage to block view on the scalp? surely hope so. COMPARISON PRE SURGERY (look at that poor balding bastard hahaha) Edited February 13, 2019 by grantleebuffalo
LonelyGraft
The hairline suits you well. The front shot really shows the improvement. You still have plenty of time for thickening and possibly even more sprouting through.
Regular Member nb98 Posted February 14, 2019 Regular Member Share Posted February 14, 2019 Looks good! I think the thickening and maturing of the hairs will help it look denser, got to remember it’ll never be as dense as a non transplanted area. Massive improvement from where you came from regardless.
