Hair Loss from cholesterol meds

I’ve read reports online that cholesterol lowering drugs can cause hair loss. I believe statins might be one of the types of drugs in question. I do not know if the hair loss is permanent however. If you have lessened your loss with lower dosages that’s good news. I would definitely follow up with your doctor and even ask a doctor that specializes in hair loss. I would also research to see if there are other types of drugs that you can take for cholesterol without side effects. Good luck

Atorvastatin (Lipitor) and simvastatin (Zocor) have a place with a gathering of cholesterol-bringing down drugs known as "statins". The two medications have male pattern baldness as a revealed unfavorable impact. The more current statin, rosuvastatin (Crestor), fortunately does not have this hazard.
