You have apprehension and that is normal.  After the transplant you will have buyers remorse.  What I would question is having 2 procedures so close together

Buyers Remorse is natural after any big ticket purchase, not specifically the hair transplant.

I am going to a doctor on the island of Crete since that is where I currently live.

Why will I have buyers remorse?

Never heard of this surgeon but you personally I'd only go to a surgeon who only specialises in hair transplants.

The money is not a factor...but I do understand that part of buyers remorse.

I have heard many places about the go to only hair transplant doctors...this doctor is a plastic surgeon but has done lots of them, and says he does 6-10 a month.

Have you seen his results? I don't even see a website. How many grafts did he tell you?

Are you taking any meds?

Reputable Hair Transplant Surgeons would not do a 2nd procedure 4 months after the first.    Most defer to at least 12 months between surgeries.  The healing process would be seriously compromised by having a 2nd procedure so soon, especially at the 4 month mark when the grafts start to sprout.

Sounds like you got yourself a jack-of-all-trades there.  It's your money and your head. I would seriously question this decision.  Really**.  Money comes and goes, but your head is forever. If truly 'money is not a factor' then why not buy a Lexus instead of a Kia*?

* KIA makes some good cars now but you get the point.

He did not recommend me doing it after 4 months...he said 8 months, but I may not be here so that is my decision.

is the website.

He told me ideal is 2500-3000 grafts but that is sometimes unrealistic and it may be closer to a 2000.

Money is a factor, but in this case its not, its cheap enough to not matter....in the U.S. it would cost 9000USD+ where as in EU it cost around 3000USD.

For HT, you need an HT specialist who does HT ONLY. Not someone who removes moles on skin and some HT's on the side.

If money is a factor, even 3K can get you somehere if you do proper research. I think you should STOP and postpone your HT and give it a serious thought as to what you want to do.

remember, your hair supply is limited, you can not say after a year - oh my old procedure didn't work out so let me get another one.....when you get another one, your hair supply situation will be more worse.

For HT, tread carefully as hair supply is limited and no option of "do-over".

If cost is an issue and travel also, I would strongly consider Erdogan in Turkey as you require extensive graft numbers and he isn't particularly far in distance. Hasson and Wong in Canada or Hattingen in Switzerland are other options I'd consider due to the large area needing to be covered but they are significantly more expensive.

Imo you should not go with the current doctor. Its a gigantic risk and it is under no circumstances is it right going to a surgeon who isn't a dedicated full time hair transplant doctor. I go as far as to recommend you cancel ASAP and do more research. Probability is at best you will get a below average, unnatural result, at worst you will be butchered and have permanent damage to your donor and lost grafts.  If you the amount you can afford is very small but you are still desperate for the procedure, I would absolutely look at Cinik and Acar in Turkey over this surgeon.

The biggest reason I am wanting to go to him is because it is a 2 hour drive from me, the price, and he seems like a very knowledgeable doctor. I know HT isnt his primary duty, but vs the DHI clinic in Athens...there was just something about him that makes me trust him.

Everyone says only go to people how only do HT. I understand the reasoning, but it doesn't mean that those who dont specialize in HT will not do just as good of job.

Below are the donor area pics.

I don’t know the surgeon in question or his work, but two things you should never base your surgeon selection on and that is location and money. The only thing that should be influencing your decision are the consistent track record of good results. If there is no track record of consistent results. Do not go through with it.

You’ve had good advice in this thread, imo you’d be stupid to follow through with this transplant. You’re not going to get a good result with this guy and with your amount of hair loss, every graft counts! Even if you lose your deposit I’d still cancel. People in this thread are giving you solid advice, follow that advice and find a doctor who is likely to give you a good result instead of someone who is likely to give you a sub standard result. Do some research and book someone not based on location, you’ll ultimately regret it

I did get a 2nd consultation from DHI out of Athens, Greece. They were wanting to do 2 sessions in 2 days. That didnt sound like the best option either.

I completely get what you guys are saying....but on the other hand his results looked good and he seems very competent with HTs.

At the very least, make sure u see the results in person. It’s easy to make even bad results look good in pics.

2 sessions in 2 days is fairly standard with large sessions. However it’s highly irregular to do 2 sessions 4 mints apart because the hair form the first procedure will have shed and and the new hairs won’t have broken through so there is a massive risk of damage to grafts from the first session. Honestly mate don’t do it, do some research and go with a known entity even if it means delaying the procedure for a few months
