This forum has always been open about how it operates though. They have never lied. Unfortunately, yes, this will always lead to questions.
Either way, I sincerely hope that they have reached out to both Dr. Erdogan and Dr. Bhatti about the recent results. Erdogan in particular went from world class results to some absolutely shockers recently. Something has drastically changed in that clinic and I can only assume it relates to his lack of involvement in the procedure. Unfortunately this forum did lead me to believe he was the best in Turkey which was not the case at all.
Hey guys! Haven't checked in on "the scene" in a number of years. I remember of course from back in the day there were only three tried and true, clinically-proven solutions and of course you all know what they are!
I use Nizoral religiously and have been for years- stopped my hair loss dead in its tracks.
Minoxidil gives me atrocious headaches, can't do it.
Finasteride has too many potential side effects for me to take. (Personal choice, not worth debating.)
I was wondering if in my absence anything else has come around with the same levels of proven efficacy. Obviously the nets are full of hokum and snake oil, and I have no interest in burning 3-6 months trying the latest and (not so) greatest fake reviews on Amazon are trying to sell me.
Thanks so much all!
This Vancouver-area patient in his mid-30’s came to Hasson & Wong in order to address his thinning hairline and frontal zone. Dr. Hasson and his team successfully harvested 3,000 grafts during a single FUE procedure to rebuild a new hairline and add density to the frontal zone. 300 of these grafts were singles, 1357 were doubles and 1343 were 3-4 hair grafts. His donor density was good and hair texture about average. These photos were taken approximately 13 months post-op.
I did a consult with a doctor who recommended 8 months of a topical finasteride/minoxidil mix before doing a second surgery. I'm a bit skeptical this will work, but I'm also not really looking forward to doing another surgery at the moment. Part of the reason I'm skeptical is because I did 14 months of micro-needling plus minoxidil pre-op, and the benefits were tangible but modest compared to the huge positive impact of a transplant. Adding in finasteride seems unlikely to be a game changer. On the other hand, there is a chance I might need fewer grafts...
I looked online, and it does look like there are RCTs backing topical finasteride. Seems less chance of side effects?
Thus it seems like this topical finasteride/minoxidil combo plus micro-needling will be the way to go? Plus PRP if you can hack it?
Sorry to hear mate, definitely a sub par result. That hairline looks quite pluggy too. Asmed is a a massive no go as far as I'm concerned.
Wouldn't expect much from Asmed or the moderators on this forum either a it now appears that they are in cahoots and this is basically a marketing tool for the recommended surgeons.
