What is the Problem with Erdoğan Hairlines?

Instead of getting into the semantics of what a botched job is, I think it’s more helpful to ask :

is the patient happy? is there a visible improvement?

From the problematic Erdogan example posted here and in other threads I would say absolutely not.  And for good reason: Erdogan is often touted as an amazing surgeon and on the list of recommended surgeons.

I don’t think that expecting a natural hairline is “unrealistic”. That is what is surprising to me about some of the comments on here defending ASMED . If a Norwood VI with poor donor hair complained because he didn’t get Brad Pitt hair from Erdogan I would get it. But the complaints are about the unrefined nature of ASMED’s work and since ASMED themselves advertise natural results, there’s a huge disconnect between promise vs result.

The poor results are pluggy as hell, use way more grafts than is necessary, sound like they are performed by technicians for the most part, and have an awkward hair direction than would look more appropriate on Tolka trolls.

I’m not saying every one of his  results sucks. But I think it is legitimate to question the clinics work without bashing it when so many real life patience come on here and share their disappointing experiences

This. People rag on us for not having done our research, but you would have to dig deep do find the real issues with this clinic because the internet is littered with their sycophants and marketing staff, just skimming over the forums and Asmeds website you would think he was the FUE god, but after having looked at more and more results the issues are apparent from the inordinate number of grafts for low Norwood cases to the number of surgeries per day, the hairline design and the fact that he doesn't even supervise the extractions, and people have the audacity to call it scaremongering and slander.

From my own point of view .. the asmed clinic is a high tech , state of the art hair transplant mill .. it might be good for some but not for everyone .. the clinic is the best of the best of hair mills .. just know what u getting in to . They have positives and negatives like any clinic .. but if u want personalized work . That’s not what the asmed clinic specialize in .. they do large cases n they good at it .. not many clinics can achieve what they have .. but they are a business , that does a lot patients a day. N they churn out more positive transplants than bad .. that’s the reality of it .. just don’t expect them to see u as another hairtransplant patient . Rather than an individual that paid good money and traveled really far for a surgery that affects us for a lifetime .

The patient does not even benefit from this in the long run.

Do you have many doubles in the very front HT0416? I do and it is really infuriating as they must now be removed by electrolysis or have singles planted in front of them lowering the hairline even more, can't believe the incompetence of these techs

Quite a few doubles in hairline. when i had my hair transplant asmed wasnt using microscopes at the time. the hairline looks really bad in person. its not to a good standard what i expected.

I have a bit better density in the front than the temples but the doubles still make it look quite unseemly :( Erdogan claims they started using microscopes in january this year but I had my surgery in march, so it looks like yet another lie

Payam,

I suggest updating your thread with these pictures. However, please include a picture of your hairline pushed back close up, this is the best way to see multiples in the hairline.

I’m booked at asmed to have mine done next Friday, I’m mainly focusing on my hairline too I’m about Norwood 3

I’ve been looking forward to it for months now but after reading all all of this I feel like calling it off before it’s too late

Don’t know what to do

Simple to answer. I stick to what Dr. Feriduni told me during the pre-op hairline drawing (we dicussed to perform a bigger surgery than initially planned, but I was unsure and hesitating): "If you are unsure about a cosmetic surgery, don't do it".

.. and this is after the microscopes he claimed he started using.

This mircoscope topic is blown out of proportion by JT. Using microscopes is great, but it doesn't guarante a natural hairline. One of my favorites for hairline clinics, does not use microscopes either.

I think its negligence and very amateurish in my eyes. Payam and myself both have very thick dark corse hair, dr erdogan knows this so planting multi hair grafts in to hairline will look very odd with us both being light skin which will turn in to a un natural result + the amateurish fake looking hairline he drew.

On most hair transplant website it states single follicle grafts must be placed in frontal hairline and have some irregularity to create natural hair transplant.

Hair grafts are also meant to be planted at an angle, why are my grafts shooting up out my scalp with no angle.

Thank you for being a voice of reason, it's amazing how anyone could say Stephens transplant from Asmed wasn't an utter failure, it it looks like he had 1000 grafts planted, a huge number of grafts down the drain.

People are claiming that certain people are being insensitive and unfair to Payam ,read his thread form the beginning, everyone including myself    tried to encourage him and keep him buoyant  ,but it became apparent he had serious tunnel vision and had no intention of listening to what was being said to him .I even asked Dr Erdogan could he clarify certain concerns some patients were having because it did seem and there still is  is genuine concerns that need to be addressed.

Read Payam's comment on Stephen's transplant above how insensitive and not caring about Stephen's feelings does that comment display ,it shows someone who will say and stop at nothing to fulfil  the self fulfilling  mission he is on. OK Stephen is not completely   happy and is going for a touch up, but to say his transplant is an utter failure and looks awful is nasty and most importantly not true .

You are misinterpreting what I said man, I didn't at all say it looks terrible because it doesn't, he has very fine hair so even with the low density it doesn't look unnatural, what I meant is he should have gotten so much more for the number of grafts used, I have email contact with Stephen and am following his case closely, and hope he really gets it sorted as he seems like a really sweet guy. I also very much appreciate that you tried to entourage me earlier on in the PMs, you are a nice guy and I am sorry if my posts offended you but I just think we are past the point of platitudes and hoping for improvements at this point. Look at the latest pics I posted, what could possess them to place that many doubles in the very front of my hairline when I have thick asian hair?

Well forums can get heated Payam, plenty of  room for people getting taking things out of context or misinterpreting  etc we all have been guilty of it , I really hope you get the result you want sooner rather than later ,and you have raised some valid points about Asmed which as you know I have pointed out to Dr Erdogan , of course my experience is of a very limited anecdotal one, but    I saw great improvements after the 7-8 month mark ,lets hope you do to ,if not I would expect Dr Erdogan to   address your concerns directly  and not  a clinic rep, even though as you admit yourself you could have handled things in a different way .

Came across an old article on Erdogan discussing his practice, and a few thoughts on his hairlines.

Quote

Erdogan explained how people's expectations vary from culture to culture. Arabs, he said, tend to opt for more aggressive hairlines.

“They want their hair to look like it looked in their teens,” he said, slipping into a chuckle. “Italians, Americans and Australians are aggressive too. But French and most people from European countries are conservative in their approach.”

In the hair weaving business, conservative expectations mean people seeking high hairlines to compliment their age.

“We have some tricks for such patients,” Erdogan said. “We take out hair strands from the donor area [the back of the head] and plant them in the recipient area [the front of the head]. We match the hair density between the two parts and create a good looking illusion.”

This is a lie, the thread is still up. However, locked until you provide us with the necessary information to confirm youre a patient. I’ve asked you several times and you continue to spread misinformation and lies. If you make public allegations, you’re expected to at the very least provide photos. I’m not sure ehat your agenda is, but this forum is clearly not for you.

Just show pics man ,don't have to show your face , I have no skin in this whats so ever but you cant knock a clinic without proof of your result ,just not cricket old chap .

I personally don't like when posters try to put off other guys form going to a Doc/clinic because of their result ,if you have had a bad result just show your recent pics in natural lighting , and people will make their own mind up ,what people  really want to hear is how the clinic deal with a genuinely sub -par result .

Reading this forum and erdogan and asmed have some concerning hairline results. It does look kinda fake. Major concern is the hairline. Any recs for hairline specialists?

It’s very interesting that you, an new consistent anti-ASMED poster already know so much about them being “fake”....but....has no clue to any other hairline “specialists” work from this forum. Shill?
