I’ve taken my time getting to this review as I’ve been pretty busy, but I check here often on others progress so thought it would be good to include my experience.

ill keep it short as I can. The staff at Asmed were outstanding. They can’t do enough for you and my patient coordinator  Müge and all the other staff were just so nice that my experience was wholly positive. There was literally nothing more I could have asked for. If I was hungry at all, they’d get me some food and drinks immediately. If I felt the slightest bit of pain or was uncomfortable they’d stop everything until I was good to go again.

The procedure itself is relatively painless, however! The numbing injections were painful! I was good for the first few but as they got to the nape of my neck it was unbearable. I think I must just have a lot of sensitivity there to be honest as my pain threshold has always been ridiculously high. Anyway, they immediately called in the anaesthatist and he gave me some painkillers in my IV and I was perfectly fine after that. The techs were wonderfully polite and considerate throughout.

Before the surgery I had my consult with Dr Erdogan. Müge was with me too and we talked about my expectations, where I wanted my hairline to be, the style of it etc. I wanted it low and he disagreed immediately and I was a little sad but when he drew it on and stuff I realized I would have looked so weird if he’d put it where’s I initially wanted it. He has an eye for this so just trust him! I’d have regretted it if he’d gone along with my suggestion haha anyway we had a good laugh through the consult, he’s super friendly and I felt relaxed around him. Never rushed, he took around 45 mins with me and my friend who  also had his consult at the same time as me (we came together). It helped though as he didn’t have to explain everything twice, and I’d already researched a bunch so Dr Erdogan knew that we were quite prepared for what to expect.

It was mildly annoying not being able to touch my head or wear my hat for a while. Also, I was one of the unfortunate ones that experienced a lot of pain in the donor. It seriously felt like it had been badly burned. I couldn’t sleep for the first 10 days and it was exhausting. No pain killers seemed to help. I’m in the minority with this though and I don’t think many experience this so dont be put off. I’m getting a lot of large pimples in the donor area now too, and small ones now and again in the recipient. Nothing terrible.

Im at around 6 weeks now. I’d say 75% of the transplanted hairs she around the 4 week mark. The rest just continued to grow. I can’t for the life of me find my thumb drive with my pictures but I know I have it somewhere so I’ll upload those pics when I find them.

For now, these are the only before shots I can find. My hair wasn’t terrible, I just had a huge forehead. My transplant was mainly to lower it, whilst bolstering my original hairline a bit too. I’ve been on finasteride for about 2-3 years now.

I’m 31, 2.37 hairs per graft on average. I can’t find any info on my hair thickness though in the packet I left with. I think he said it was pretty average or just under though. I’m anxious just for my normal hair to grow enough to cover this area haha sick of wearing a hat at work!

I prepared myself for a while so I’m not checking every 5 mins I just pop my hat on and forget about it haha for now anyway!

Really worried about my donor area. It looks so patchy and someone at work asked if I had a skin condition on my scalp. Suffice to say been feeling shit all day since. :(

it looks like all my grafts were over harvested from the same spot

Tbh your best bet is just growing it out a bit longer for the next 6 months or so. My redness took a full 9 months or so to go to the point where it was no longer visible, not much you can do about it honestly. A small amount of shockloss also possible which tends to fix itself by the 6 month mark. Wouldn't worry until around that point, or even longer potentially.

I chose fue over fut for the sole purpose of wearing my hair short. It’s gonna suck if I can’t do that. Absolutely hate having longer hair on the back and sides lol hoping it’s just temporary shock loss. The back feels really dry too, might look into something that moisturizes scalp

Trying not to be negative and just wait it out, but worried about the spacing between grafts. The main problem with the latest results from the clinic is sparse, gappy and low density hairlines. Obviously I’m at 4 months but since it was already growing just over a month from surgery i can’t see many of any more sprouts happening.

i know how that sounds being only 4 months out, but under light close up I can see a little bump/scar from every incision and all of them have sprouted. There’s no incision bumps in the current  gaps just smooth scalp which leads me to believe those gaps are gonna stay bare.

Hope I’m wrong, and I know I sound silly being only 4 months out. But from Stephens result and a few others, I feel like I’m on track for the same.

You had a full head of hair before the transplant and your forehead wasn't big either. The donor looks fine -- grow your hair slightly longer if it bothers you. I think you're being hypersensitive here. It's still early days - try not to critique it so much now, give it time.

So for 3000 grafts I’d hope that I won’t have such big gaps once it’s all grown out.

Sorry man but it's ridiculous to say more sprouts won't happen at the 4 month mark, and can you take some more zoomed out pics? It looks like you are having some very nice growth so far

Yes, you do sound silly thinking you won’t see more new growth at only 4-months.

Its also silly to compare yourself to someone else, just relax, don’t micro analyze it every day and let the go through it’s course, your progress looks good so far.

I hope so. I keep looking at other people’s results and I shouldn’t since everyone’s different. Anxiety getting the better of me lol. The waiting really does give me too much time to obsess haha

Stay positive I know your thinking the worst but there have been some great results coming from asmed, hopefully you got the good techs

My experience was great, the doctor spent a lot of time with me so I should be more confident I guess. I’m looking too hard at the not great results but you’re right there are a lot of good ones too.

Worrying a bit about not having any new sprouts for the last month or 2. No stubbly bits, no black dots peeking through. Nothing. It’s getting longer but there’s been no new growth. Some parts of my hairline have quite a lot of space/bald patches between grafts.

Anyone experience new growth after 5 months? I know people will say it’ll thicken up, but unless each hair thickens to a few millimeters thick those bald patches are gonna stay bald lol
