Hi,

I'm not here to post a review about the HT clinics in Turkey or to say what's good or bad about them. You can pick whatever clinic you want, I'm not going to convince you of which one is better, I did my research and went with Dr. Cinik.

I'm here to post progress pictures of my transplant and let the results speak for themselves. Yes, I am a real patient, feel free to ask me questions about my experience and research. I will consistently post pictures of my head for up to 12 months.

For those of you that care about some "review", what I can say is there were no surprises with Dr Cinik or his staff. They were able to answer all my questions, they never rushed me for the money, they made sure I ate before the surgery (have me a sandwich) and everything was clear with them.

Now let's get started with the pictures...

Today is the week 3 mark! Looks like the hairs are growing (surprisingly) but there is a lot of shedding when I take a shower. I can't wait to pass this phase. There are also still some redness in the back of my neck but I'm sure that will go away in no time. I used to go to the gym often before so now it's hard to stay away from physical activities (and alcohol haha).

After week 4 I'll start posting monthly updates only.

Cheers!

Would you have considered FUT?  Why or why not?

No I wouldn't. From my research I read FUE is a much better and newer method; it leaves less of a visible scarring in the back and it allows you for future surgeries if you ever need to do a 2nd HT years down the road. Also I read the healing process is a lot easier/faster with FUE.

I saw someone in person who did both FUT method and then years later did FUE and he said FUE was much much better in terms of results, procedure, recovery and scarring.

Thanks!  Sorry for the multiple questions, I keep thinking of new ones!

Do you have any retrograde alopecia?  Particularly at your neck?

No worries about the questions, that's why I made this thread :)

I do not have retrograde alopecia. I know in the last picture I sent it looks like that but that's just my donor area still healing from the transplant.

1 Month mark! Still a lot of hairs shed in the shower but nothing that isn't normal. Looking forward to the next 2 months and more. Some parts of my head still feel numb but the clinic told me that's normal, might be another couple of weeks till senses come back 100%.

Looking on track mate! Yeah my numbness went away fully around the 3rd month mark.

Thanks! I saw your progress and results thread months ago and it helped me a lot in making my decision, so thank you for that @lukeyb1687 :)

I am taking 1000mg Biotin 2x/day, 200mg Saw Palmetto 1/day and the MultiVitamins Dr. Cinik's clinic recommended. They said I can take Finasteride but I didn't want to and opted for the Saw Palmetto instead.

Hey man did the clinic give you the saw palmetto and biotin as well or just the vits? I’m thinking of starting on these too and just wondered what to take. I’m about to book my flight to Istanbul. ?

My numbness took longer than that.  Sounds all familiar and normal.

Hey, I only bought the multivits from the clinic (12 month supply) and their shampoo (6 month supply). They were selling all 3 supplements (vits + biotin + saw p.) but I told them I'll buy biotin and saw palmetto from my local drugstore at home. They said ok and never pushed to sell those items after that. They just told me the vits are the most important one to take out of all the supplements.

The clinic actually told me not to take any vits or supplements before the procedure so maybe you should hold off on starting those.

Ok that’s good info thanks. What exactly are the vitamins do you know? I’ve booked my flights and procedure now. I’m quite anxious about going to work afterwards. I hope I can hold it together.

Ya, I was anxious about going back to work too but it really wasn't that big of a deal. My procedure was on a Wednesday then I got home on Saturday and I worked from home for 1 week so I didn't leave my house for a week. When I got back to work all the scabs were gone so I looked close to normal. People at my work said they didn't remember what I looked like before.

Thanks so much for those pics, that’s really interesting. Funny he has his own branded shampoo. ? That’s good it wasn’t a big deal. I hope it’s the same for me. I can work from home for a bit too. I’ll have close to 3 weeks after the procedure before I go back to the office. I’m taking CBD oil just now as it seems to help my anxiety. Although I’ll probably need to stop taking prior. I’ll ask Dr C about it. ?
