Where to go in Turkey

Recommended Posts

Hi guys I’ve been looking at getting a transplant for a while. The problem is it’s hard to know where to go, every decent review is followed by a bad one. I’m from Australia and most clinics here want $15,000AUD minimum

I’ve attached some photos if that helps. Id like something that looks realistic and preferably doesn’t costs the price of a car. I understand you get why you pay for

We need more information. How old are you? Are you on meds? How is you familiy history, any NW6+ in there?

For me (depending on your age) you might not be a candidate at all. Sorry, for the direct answer. Or maybe "less is more" combination with SMP. Or only SMP?

I’m 29. I only started loosing my hair at 26, by 27 I decided to shave it.

One of my uncles is completely bald on mother’s side, the rest are normal hair loss for men in their 50s.

My father is bald but didn’t start till his mid 40s

I do not believe that you started losing hait at 26/27. With you aggressive loss you have propobaly started at 19 but haven't realized it. Very common issue.

I think you are heading towards NW6+ and would go the SMP route. Maybe ask a very specialised clinic for body hair (Umar, HLC) and go on FIN to prevent furter loss. HT will cost you a fortune (time and money) and there is a high risk for a non desireable result.

I suffered some stress around 25 and the hair loss seem to start after that. Going through previous photos it only shows from 25 onwards with 26 becoming really bad.

One clinic said they couldn’t do anything. Another said I needed two operations and another said 4000 grafts would be enough to get the job done. Not sure who to believe

1. You should grow out your hair, many clinics that ask that you submit your photos to them online may misjudge how thick or dense your donor area may be in realty from any photos you submit for evaluation, have someone else take clear proper photos in good lighting with the longer hair.

2. From your photos and in your case, the top ethical doctors/clinics in Turkey will very likely just recommend that you get on Finasteride ASAP for at least 6-months before any FUE procedure, to see if you take well to the medication, if it thickens or improves your donor region.

3. Dr Erdogan at ASMED is a top choice but the priciest at 2.5 euro per graft, although he does not do beard or body hair FUE.

4. Dr Keser is a top choice as well, not sure if he does FUE from beard or body.

5. HDC clinic is another well regarded clinic with favorable results.

First the negative....your donor supply seems very limited due to your hair loss pattern, from looking at your photos.

On the positive...if you do research properly and look for a reputable doctor whom does manual FUE and can harvest from your beard and body hair as well, then you could be an adequate candidate.

Good luck!

3,000 to 4,000 graft could possibly give you decent coverage but most likely you would have to choose either for crown area coverage and much less dense frontal area, or just do the full frontal third area only, I would choose just the full frontal third area, I don’t care if some stares at my bald spot from behind, I rather a good frontal area since first impressions are always face to face, in my opinion.

It is highly unlikely that Keser takes over such a case and he is also the wrong clinic for such large area IMO. Wasted time to contact him.

HLC also do only small cases per day (which will make it a very long and though path) but do at least body hair.

Erdogan is great for large sessions, but does not do body hair as far as I know. But he does beard hair if I am not wrong.

If there is any chance for a desireable outcome it is clear that you have to start with the front (very conservative) and leave the crown untouched. Crown eats a lot of grafts and a filled crown without any front will not give any significant cosmetic improvement. It would just force you to do more surgeries when the crown expands to avoid a donot like appearance.

I'd consult Hasson and Wong, Hattingen clinic (Both FUT and outside Turkey) and also Erdogan ( FUE) who was already mentioned. To be honest though OP you have a well below average donor with a possible future at the NW7 level along with thinning at the bottom also. I wouldn't do FUE and even FUT probably isn't going to get you so far,  likely just  a conservative hairline without crown coverage or full midscalp coverage.
