Regular Member aaron0d3 Posted July 31, 2018 Regular Member Share Posted July 31, 2018 Hey guys, It seems that all the pictures I see are always with brushed back style, and if they style it forward it just looks slighty "puffy" or not too flat in their forehead. I suppose it has a lot to do with the hair direction the surgen implant the grafts, but just wonder, would it be to wear the hair like that : Thanks!! Senior Member Shera Posted July 31, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted July 31, 2018 I can't see there being any issue with wearing your hair like that post transplant, I suppose most guys wear it up because they now can.
Bill - Seemiller
Until recently, I always wore my hair forward and very short. Now I would spike up the bangs so it wasn’t completely flat like that, but I would say it still looks pretty darn good. Recently I’ve been growing my hair so I’ve had to stylet backwards. But let me try to find some photos to post. Bill

Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted July 31, 2018 Administrators Share Posted July 31, 2018 It doesn’t have anything to do with the hair direction it’s more about what’s popular. Pompadour and undercut hairstyles are popular, so the majority of guys get transplants to be able to wear their hair in those styles. The Caesar style is a style guys for guys trying to conceal their hair line, but when you have surgery you want to show it off, at least that’s how I feel. I have some pictures of my hair brushed forward I did it at a members request, I’ll try and post them up, certainly not a hairstyle I’d ever wear. But different styles for different people. Regular Member aaron0d3 Posted July 31, 2018 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 31, 2018 Thank you so much all for your fast responds and pictures, I appreciate that. The reason I asked this is because when I was a teen (With a full head of hair), my natural hairline couldn't be styled that way because the hair was growing the way up, so no matter what, it would look very poofy and couldn't touch my forehead because of my natural hair direction. So I'm thinking, maybe I should let the surgeon know first the way I want to style my hair so he will know in advance not to implant the grafts in a way that won't be able to style it forward? And yes, I do rather brushed back style of course but i'm thinking in the worst case, what if I won't be 100% confidence with the results, what if my skin will stay pink\the hairline won't be dense enough etc so if I style it forward i will be able to make it look more dense and will be able to cover anything that would concern me. Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted July 31, 2018 Administrators Share Posted July 31, 2018 Well if you go to a pre-screened surgeon, the chances of that happening is low. Additionally, the surgeon has to place the hair in the natural direction, it is up to the patient how they want to style it, I can wear my hair up, down, to the side it’s up to me. Senior Member gillenator Posted July 31, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted July 31, 2018 Combing or brushing the hair in a front-to-back direction helps to create illusionary volume, something I have been doing for years. It's a way of looking like you have more density and fullness. Gillenator Independent Patient Advocate I am not a physician and not employed by any doctor/clinic. Senior Member pkipling Posted August 10, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted August 10, 2018 It's definitely possible. And any potential "puffiness" you're describing that stems from the (natural) direction of the implanted hairs could most likely be overcome with the right styling product, and I don't think any surgeon would want to implant the hairs in a direction that wasn't natural anyway. (Nor do I think you would ultimately be happy with it if they did.) I am a patient advocate for Dr. Parsa Mohebi in Los Angeles, CA.
