swl2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Hi all, Please to have found a place like this, this will hopefully help me find some answers. I am 32, male. My hair has been receding and thinning on and around the crown for approximately 18 months. For the previous 8/9 months I have been using regain, first of all the foam and now solution. However to my mind this is doing very little or nothing to reduce the amount of hair I am losing and I am certiaincly not growing any back. I have in the last week spoken to Belgravia, the Finasteride and their version of 5% mixdodil is ?245 every 3 months, someone people on here seem to think it’s great and claim it’s worked well with stopping the loss of hair and re-growing a percentage of the lost hair. Whereas others seem to believe that this is overpriced (probably agree) but where can you get the exact equivalent from? Belgravia tell me that Regain mixodil, the quote is below. Our Minoxidil 5% + MPG is very different to Regaine. It contains Medroxyprogesterone (MPG) which is a DHT blocker (blocking the cause of your hair loss). Also, the consistency of it penetrates the follicles more deeply and thus forming a barrier with the MPG deeper. Also, I have never used finasteride before, I certainly do not have money to throw away but I really want to act as quickly as possible to hopefully start seeing some results. Any advice would be very much appreciated, Thanks very much.
Senior Member gillenator Posted April 20, 2018 Senior Member Posted April 20, 2018 Low dose finasteride (1 mg daily) is really the only FDA approved medication for success in inhibiting DHT, the source of our genetic hair loss. Minoxidil based products won't do it but can help increase hair caliber and possibly help regrow some hair. The best thing would be to discuss your situation with a licensed physician to get started on finasteride. See if the doctor will script you for the 5 mg form of finasteride and then you can use a pill cutter to make 4 pieces. You would be ingesting roughly 1.25 mg daily. I do this myself and have for years with no problems whatsoever. Gillenator Independent Patient Advocate I am not a physician and not employed by any doctor/clinic. My opinions are not medical advice, but are my own views which you read at your own risk. Supporting Physicians: Dr. Robert Dorin: The Hairloss Doctors in New York, NY
Senior Member Legend007 Posted April 21, 2018 Senior Member Posted April 21, 2018 Y r u paying so much to belgravia for products like rogaine n finasteride when u can get it over the counter or a regular doctors script for finasteride.. If their rogaine is so awesome why is it not fda approved n mass marketed to everyone ? Belgravia is a center for advertising and catering to people that have no knowledge of hairloss .. u on this forum , u probably done enough research on line u not stupid n need to pay a center for something u already know .. u know what to do , n what works or not don’t pay the middle man for information n products u can get without them ..
