I realize it’s early, about 7 weeks, but I’m feeling like this is not developing well. Does redness ever give way to a cleaner scar, or will this likely get worse? Please advise FUT vets. Thanks.

You'll just have to patiently wait and see if some of that is shock loss surrounding the scar or directly adjacent to it.

Give it a full 6+ months & then fully reexamine again. In the meantime I would NOT examine it except every few weeks to make sure the redness is slowly fading.

I would expect some redness to remain at 7 weeks and some shockloss is common. Looks like your hair covers it so I agree that you should just give it time to fully heal and not stress too much. You're probably looking at months before any major difference so there's no point checking it daily.
