Regular Member ClarkKent77 Posted January 5, 2018 Regular Member Posted January 5, 2018 My wife and I are currently trying for a child. I'm nearly 37. I have diffuse thinning. I have been on Regaine for just over two months, but so far it has only made my hair more brittle. I still have a decent amount of hair, but I don't want to lose anymore, and I would like to thicken up what I have. I have LOTS of whispy, brittle, light, terminal hairs. I would "like" to start finasteride, but I would only do so if it was safe in terms of conceiving a child. I will start as soon as my wife becomes pregnant, but these things can take time! In the meantime, is there any risk to my wife or the child? What kind of research should I do? Who can I ask about this?
Senior Member Gasthoerer Posted January 5, 2018 Senior Member Posted January 5, 2018 This is a very important topic and unfortunately most next door medical doctor knows nothing about it. Also forums are not a big help, cause they are full of fear mongers. There are only 2 options: - You talk to users who have fathered children on FIN or read their stories --> Spex Comes to my mind - Or you ask Mr. Google and read some scientitic reports E.g. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2018472/ From what I understand: - There is no risk if you take FIN on the health of the women or the Baby (indirect exposure) - FIN doesn't lower your chance to father a child - The women should not touch splited (!)pills --> Go for the 1 mg original There will be other opinions. So I recommend again to read the data yourself. Best of luck! 400+ grafts in 2018 and 2900 grafts in 2020 via FUE with Feriduni
