RECOMMENDED TREATMENT

This young man came to my office to find a solution for his receding temples.

He had been losing hair since the age of 18, however the hair loss had stabilized since the age of 22.

During the pre-op consultation, we agreed upon an FUE procedure consisting in approximately 1800-2000 grafts in order to restore his temple corners. Moreover, I prescribed him Minoxidil 5%.

Eventually, we were able to harvest 1880 grafts, including an important number of singles (500) that were used to rebuild the very first hairline.

At the 6th post-op month mark, the patient already experienced a noticeable regrowth, as you can appreciate in the pictures below.

The patient recently contacted, 2 years after the surgery, to inform us that he's still very pleased about his results. He also promised to send us some update pictures, which we'll not hesitate to share with you as soon as available.

SURGERY DETAILS

1880 grafts

Technique: FUE

FUE scoring and extractions executed with my WAW system, now widely used in the sphere of FUE. It consists of a very precise pedal that enables to control the movement of the punch, that I also designed myself. The main advantage is to reduce substantially the number of damaged and transected hair, thus to raise the quality of the procedure. The system is now used worldwide and several dozens of surgeons or centres are already using it.

Incisions: 40-45/cm2

Grafts Breakdown:

☞ 500 Single FUE grafts

☞ 754 Double FUE grafts

☞ 591 Triple FUE grafts

☞ 35 Quadruple FUE grafts

Total number of Hair: 3921

Average Hair/Graft: 2.08

Dr. Devroye,

Great result and nice high resolution photos. If I could give you any advice, it would be to comb the hair up in the before pictures so we can truly appreciate the hair restoration transformation. In this case, the hair is combed down in the before pictures so it actually makes it look like he has more hair before than he really did, making the transformation seem not quite as impressive, although those of us who know about hair styling and direction, know just how impressive it is. So if you have any pictures of this patient's hair before surgery styled backwards/upwards, please post them :-).

Best wishes,

Bill
