Results are fairly solid and continue to get better. A lot less "stubble" sized hair, but still have the "see through" look when close up. For the first time in years I had to buy hair styling products:) Looking forward to month 6.

Thoughts?

Everything looks like it should for only Five months after the procedure. How is your donor healing ?

Thanks! The donor area healed early on as I got an FUE. My hair is fairly long on the back and sides so it's hard to see but when cut short there are the pin hole scars. Nothing too bad.

At the halfway point and I'm feeling pretty good but at the same time when I take close up photos from the front there is noticeable thinness and patches of spottiness that I'm not thrilled with, but overall I'm pleased and thankful that I'm only halfway through.

I also posted some pics from a few years back just to show how bad my hairline was:eek: and how far I've come:)

Posting more in depth photos to give a better look at the progress. It's definitely a slow process and could be better in some spots particularly the right side which was really bald before and the hairline is a bit too straight, but overall I can't complain as I have hair for the first time in 7 years.

The main thing I learned is if you are happy with the results that's all that matters.

we had surgery the same day. I'm also still waiting for certain areas to fill in. Like you said (or someone said) we're very much at the halfway point so anything goes.

hitherehair I agree and for the most part it takes close up pictures for me to see this.

8.5 Month Update

Skipped my 8 month update so here's my 8.5 month/36 week update.

I don't notice any significant changes other than I've grown my hair longer.

Just to be clear, I'm thrilled with my overall results.  I can style my hair in ways I could only dream of before, which is a HUGE win for me, but there are still areas of thinness/baldness that I'm not fond of and also certain styles I can't pull off... yet.  The first 4 months weren't fun (ugly duckling) but the following 4 months have been great.  Here's hoping the final 4 months will be even better.

Well you will have some growth for the next few months, most of the density will be achieved by month 9. The good news is if you were to do a touch up procedure, your final result will look amazing. Most doctors will either offer to do a touch up (if you need one) for free or give you a significant discount.

A touch up is usually around 300-500 grafts.

9 Month Update

Not much new to report.  I agree that at this point it's pretty much close to the final result, but I'm happy nonetheless.  Again that's all that matters when one gets a procedure like this.  There's a lot of variables (right dr, $$, post op care, etc) that go into this and to get a good result that you are happy with is the ultimate.

I agree that a "touch up" would be beneficial, but at the same time I like how it looks, and that's all I care about.

Please don't take this the wrong way but I think the growth is quite below par. Obviously the basic structure is there but there is major gappiness and obvious distinction between the transplanted and original hairline visible through it which shouldn't be the case.

If you are happy then that's that, but it would be definitely be fair to expect (a lot ) more in case.

The redness/scarring is also still visible in the recipient.

The redness isn't too worrying, for myself it took at least a year for it to stop being noticeable and even then there was a small degree left. Seems to be common among others also, but if the density is stronger it is less of an issue and goes unseen.
