Hey congrats on taking the plunge. That's honestly the hardest part! I was taking saw palmetto *fin caused cystic acne*, b12, b complex and biotin. They offered Fin, but I didnt want it as it causes too many issues with my skin. So much has changed in terms of my confidence and outlook on life. But I am more frustrated on days that I can't get my hair to do what I want lol!! This community has sincerely been a huge support group and I wish each and everyone of you an incredible holiday season, and for those who are pondering on taking the plunge, from my experience, I would say go for it! But make sure that you're emotionally ready for the journey and that you take all necessary steps to ensure your body heals well. It's not easy at times but in my opinion setting yourself up for success is crucial to a good result. DrQ Posted May 31, 2020 Share Posted May 31, 2020 Hi Luke, I hope you are well and the your hair is getting even better. I had my procedure in January 2020 and I’m at 4 +2 weeks. However, my hair is still thin and thready and I am getting very disheartened. I feel like it’s not going to improve, I have seen your 5 months pictures and there is no way that in the next two week my hair will look that good. It just dawned on me that my op was 3 years ago last week!! Crazy how time flies, especially when I’m not worried about my hair loss like I was in the past! Here’s my 3 year update. Could not be happier!!! I’ll say it certainly has helped my acting career and for sure my confidence! @DrQ sorry I didn’t see your post earlier in the year. How did your turn out? Hoping everything came in wonderful. I hope that you’re all well and getting through these interesting times safely. Senior Member lukeyb1687 Posted March 31 Author Senior Member Share Posted March 31 (edited) It’s been 2,297 days or 6 years 3 months and 9 days since my transplant!! Time has flown by! Sorry that I’ve been MIA. I’ve been enjoying life not thinking too much about my hair loss and just embracing all that life has provided. I can say looking back at pics pre-op to now, there is such a vast difference that I don’t even recognize myself in the old pics. I’ve said it before that in the event that I continue with hair loss I would go back and add more to my hairline and thicken some areas up but overall I’m over the moon with the difference, but i do still get hair envy when it’s wet and question if I should go back for my own sake to fill in the areas I see, but that could also be vanity talking! Nevertheless, I had 6 friends go to Dr. Cinik based off bow they were impressed with my personal results. if you are thinking about taking the plunge, I’d say do it, research who you want to go to. Check out their results, get a consultation, and book the op when you’re ready! Don’t rush into it! Taking your time will be worth it in the end.
