Did I have enough grafts for a natural look?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, long time reader first time poster. I am now 4 months post fue with a doctor I wish not to name until I have the final result. I am a nw2 with one temple that receeded and another which had fairly minimal loss. I had 1700 grafts completed 4 months ago (3700 hairs/ mostly compiled of doubles and triples) with my hairline slightly lowered. I've had minimal growth 4 months out, but keep my hair shaved low so it's not as noticeable. Is my current growtb standard and do you think I have had enough grafts to create a relatively dense hairline? Thanks for the feed back

You'll never know until it's grown out. Definitely not enough when that short. Couple things, you're definitely higher than a 2. Your a 3 headed to 4 with a persistent forelock. Your receded corners are eventually going to want to touch. More importantly, is did you have the grafts to maintain a natural look. And for that, especially if you're not on finasteride, i say no. You went very aggressive, blunted your corners, and lowered your hairline. Your best bet is to let your hair start to grow and see how it looks and get on meds if you're not. Also, if you have another procedure, plant like you'll lose your frontal third. You're in a situation where you can still end up in a good situation, but your margin for error is very slim.

Sorry can't answer your question since I haven't had a procedure, but I noticed that your pre-surgery hairline was fairly similar to mine and I keep my hair short like your's although not out of choice. How soon were you able to start shaving your head post-op? I've heard it's good to wait a month or more.

It's too early to know but eyeballing some of the spacing of your grafts I would think it likely that you'll desire more density later.

Your recession was greater than a Norwood 2, you look more like a Norwood 3 case.

Make sure you're taking preventative treatments such as finasteride or else this aggressive hairline will look suspicious down the road if the hair behind it doesn't stick around.
