Hi hairystylezz, Thank you for your kind words and congrats on your procedure. I did not take anything extra besides what was prescribed by Dr.Diep. I just take extra precautions in terms of sun exposure and not doing any contact sports yet. Regular Member mikenguyen Posted October 3, 2017 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 3, 2017 3 Months Post-Op Update Firstly, I would like to thank everyone that have been commenting on my post. Time does fly, I can't believe that it has been 3 months since I had my procedure. Over the last month, I have been seeing hair sprouting out all over my recipient area. Some of the hairs are thicker than others but most of the hairs are still thin and wispy. As of right now, the hairs are also quite sparsed but I expect a lot more hair to come out in the upcoming months. It seems that the hairs are thickening up every day and I can feel and see them clearer in the mirrors as time goes by. I hope that this is a positive sign for a good final result. As for my donor area, as you can see, there is still that patchy look especially on the side of my head. However, I am expecting this to improve in the upcoming months. Redness is almost completely gone on the recipient area. The side of my head might be a little more red than normal since I bumped my head yesterday Also, barely any numbness and no more pain. No direct sun exposure yet, I have been wearing my hats everytime I go outside. I will be playing my first round of golf on Friday with my hat on since my Dr. said that it should be okay. Totally normal for the hairs to appear thin and wispy at this time. They will become more robust as time goes on. Best of luck! Regular Member mikenguyen Posted October 30, 2017 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 30, 2017 October 30th,2017 - Almost 4 months post op update So I am actually 4 days away from my 4 months mark but I decided to post update today since I did not want my donor area to grow out more and hide the scars. (I want my photos to be as realistic as possible). Over the last month, a lot has happened and a lot of the hair grafts emerged from my scalp. They got thicker and thicker everyday and I did not even notice it until my girlfriend told me. The hairline is thicker than other parts of the recipient area and can see that my hairline is starting to form. There are still many patches with low density and I hope that more growth are coming in the upcoming months. I had some itchiness in both recipient and donor area but I think that it was just a sign of growth. As for my donor area, I feel like it is improving even though the scars are still red. The areas that were patchy last month improved and does not look as bad anymore. Overall, it was a big month for me and I am hoping for more growth and density in the upcoming months. The photos were taken right after my shower and under harsh lighting (i just changed the light bulbs in my bathroom so these photos are under brighter light compare to previous photos). I cut my hair 2 weeks ago so my hair already grew out a lot and covered the donor scars. I wish that I could take the photos after my haircut. I have been suffering a hack job for few years now, wearing a hat all the time, and ashamed of going out, or to a place that i cant wear a hat, weddings, church and so on. From the photos, donor area is slowly getting better, redness is slowly fading and makes scars less visible. The scars at the back are still visible (look like linear scar). However, IT IS IMPROVING. I am optimistic that it will continue to look better with time since the punch size that Dr.Diep uses is larger.Also, this is right after my haircut and usually after a few days these scars are usually not visible anymore. My recipient area is definietly getting somewhere! Hairs are getting thicker every day and I am very happy with where I am right now. The hairs are still wispy and thin. It's only going to go up from here! Keep in mind that I took these photos under harsh lighting with my hair right after a haircut in order to expose all the scars for you guys to see. I mean wtf is this guy doing with us and our donors . We paid him alot of money and no other top doctor donors areas look like his after 4 month I mean comon. I looked at your post-op pics too, and your donor really looks either over-harvested or the punch size being too large makes it look that way - you'll probably have to wear your hair longer than that on the sides and back to conceal those FUE scars, otherwise your growth in the recipient area looks good, best of luck with continued growth Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That would only be the tension strenght of the wound (scar maturation it's called) and the the recovery of any shock loss. The fue scars are healed imo. That donor is shot and especially an Asian with strong contrast of hair and scalp shouldn't have a 1mm punch used. You're going to have a crisis on your hands if you lose more hair due to your ruined donor. On the upside if you do get on finasteride it looks as if you're going to get a fantastic result and still have the ability to make it last. Good luck to you - Im talking about the Appearance of the scars dots on side of his head. They don't need a year to get better imo. They been sealed up since 2 weeks in. Only thing is if he had shock loss and theirs hairs that are in those gaps that havnt sprouted out yet. Yes the tension strenght improves over time and the redness fades and they might contract some but im skeptical. Im pulling for him tho I am in same boat with same doctor but while we watch all these other patient reviews with great donors 2 weeks after surgery with more graphs it's not reassuring. We have a sweat to see how we end up when most others dont Anyone reading this is welcome to prove me wrong with pics I want to eat my words. Post similar side of head before and after. He doesn't look like shockloss. This hair transplant is going to be a home run. Your results are 4 months are probably as good as mine at almost 9 months.
