PATIENT'S DETAILS

60 years old, NW VI, losing hair since the age of 30, with a hair loss history in his family.

No medications.

Thin hair.

Normal follicular units.

High % of hair in telogen phase.

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT

Given the extended hair loss this patient suffered, I proposed him a plan consisting in two separated sessions.

The first one, with FUT technique, with the aim of restoring his hairline and frontal area (with a very conservative approach).

The second session, with FUE technique, in order to restore his vertex and upper mid-scalp.

One year after the last procedure, the patient has sent the pictures shown hereunder and is amazed by the great results he has achieved, frankly unexpected considering his initial situation.

SURGERIES DETAILS

1st SURGERY – JUNE 2015

☞ 1223 Double FUT grafts

☞ 868 Triple FUT grafts

☞ 160 Quadruple FUT grafts

2nd SURGERY – APRIL 2016

2606 grafts

Technique: FUE

FUE scoring and extractions executed with my WAW system, now widely used in the sphere of FUE. It consists of a very precise pedal that enables to control the movement of the punch, that I also designed myself. The main advantage is to reduce substantially the number of damaged and transected hair, thus to raise the quality of the procedure. The system is now used worldwide and several dozens of surgeons or centres are already using it.

☞ 1108 Triple FUE grafts

Dr.Devyroe.

I' really appreciate the results you present.

Always multiple pictures of pre and post op and you show "real" cases.

Your cases aren't just a NW2 that you front load the hairline with 4500 grafts.

How many grafts does this patient have left? Would look even better if he could add a little bit more density.

And great scar!

Any grafts left?

Thanks for your comments andy and mosd.

The last picture showing the patient's donor tells that it may still be possible to extract some grafts. At least about a thousand.

This is one of the advantages of FUE: it allows to rebalance the densities of both donor and recipient areas. When a homogeneous density among the two zones is achieved, even if it's not or not anymore maximal, the patient tends to be highly satisfied.

Where would use the remaining 1000 - 1500 grafts?

This would depend mainly on the patient's wishes.

Personally, I would spread them through the entire transplanted area to increase the overall density in a homogenous way.
