manus
Hi guyz, I am new to this forum.Hav just booked my surgery with dr. Manoj Khanna sometime mid jan. though have booked my date but um still a little skeptic about the whole thing.Um 24 rite now and have lost most of my front hairs.Dr Khanna said he will do apprx 2000 grafts in the first sitting and more thereafter if I wish to. there were several questions that were bothering me.It will be great if this could have been answered here 1) I had read somewhere in yahoo answers that after transplant some rash is left at the transplanted area which becomes a lot vissible and ugly at later age when the surrounding hairs start sheding. wanted to know ..is this true?..and if so how bad is it? 2) Has anybody here in this forum ,heard about Dr. Khanna ? because locally in india I have heard only about this doctor? when I had been to him I had no idea that this kind of online forum existed where i could have consulted before going there. 3) will the final result look natural life long? 4) Dr khanna said that the success rate in this surgery is 110% ( he,having handled more than 1200 such cases) . wanted to know the true scene.. guyz it will be great if u could answer this oh...I forgot to wish u guyz.. "Merry Christmas"...awaitings some replies

Regular Member pink Posted December 29, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted December 29, 2008 Manmus, 1) cancel your appointment right now and take some time out to do research on HT. Do not be in a hurry to get a HT. 2) Success rate can never be 110% and HE IS CLEARLY BLUFFING (stay away from such doctors) 3) There are no good Hair Transplant doctors for india so hold on brother. xeon_invader
Manmus, I am having a telecon with the doctor tonite to discuss about my transplant later this month. I have asked him to provide me with contact details of his ealier patients as well and am awaiting the same. I could not find any blog or forum discussing on his previous cases but I did find this article on NDTV on him: http://www.doctorndtv.com/prof...le.asp?alias=MKhanna In case you do decide to go ahead with him please keep me updated. Many thanks.
manus
Hi xeon I have had 2 meetings with the doctor and have also met a patient who had got 2000 grafts (apprx)..done by the doc..last yr..now his results r quite visible..his suggestion was to blindly go for this doc..dont have to worry a bit...he told me all abt his experience and was v happy with the exp. the doc has also transplanted ravi shastri and arun lal and is supposedly the best doc in India....I have somewht decided to go for this doc...tho wont say 100% yet....but yes 85% um convinced.... some points by the patient whom i met are as below 1) Thrs a lot of pain when he applies the anesthesia injection on the forehead. Though after this thrs no pain at all .all through out the op. 2)His hairs had come out well, but was a little curly, becoz generally back hairs r curly. 3) The scar at the back was not visible because of his grown hair, but when he removed that hair to show the scar ...it was a little prominent. This is the only thing he was not v happy abt...but I guess all transplant op will leave such scar..Please correct me if um wrong?? 4)He said that the doc is damn confident about what he his doing..and said that was visible from his attitude (Post op and Pre OP) during his visits with him. @Xeon: Please do update me also, if u learn more about him from places or from his patients... xeon_invader
Hi Manus, Thanks for the input. I have decided to go with Dr. Path of Thailand as he seems to be of more repute. I have seen his patient pics and the forum has several good comments on his work. He uses tricho closure method so that there is no scarring. The cost is 1.5 times more roughly but I guess its worth the investment for a one time thing. However, I have delayed my HT for few months as adviced by the doc and will get hair weaving done temporarily. Do let me know if you go with Dr. Khanna. manus
hi xeon! I just went through the 3 patients blog of Dr Path's work, they look amazing...but for the scar part I see the scar is prominent with 2 of his patients..while its just a white line for one of them...are u sure that thr is no scarring? xeon_invader
Hi Manus, The other two are still in their first few months of the HT and tricho closure otherwise also doesnt leave a scar. Dr. Path adviced me that complete healing of the scar generally takes 4-5 months.
