Steady improvement but must say the experience is incredibly stressful at the moment, even more so that ugly duckling stage. Comfortable where I'm at currently, just hoping the improvements keep coming especially from months 4-6 which is obviously nerve racking.

I'll take some new photos in a week at the 4 month mark.

Hi JeanLuc, may I ask how long does one have to use the surgical pack provided by Asmed. Do you have to just to finish the pack and once it's done you can go back to the old shampooing ways? Or do you have to buy again?

Thank you for your reply.

Ice pack for a day or two, the shampoo and mouse for 10 days and I kept using the shampoo until it ran out at about day 17. After that you can go back to your regular shampoo.

4 Months.

Beginning to get somewhere, but there are a few problem spots at the front of the hairline with minimal growth. Hoping I can get similar progress of the past two weeks up to 6 months and it should be looking pretty good. At this rate I'm probably a month off a decent cosmetic improvement and I'll get my first haircut at the five month mark which should help balance things out with the native hair.

Thanks! Finally I'll be having HT with Asmed this December. I'll be flying back the day after surgery so hopefully everything turns out well!

5 Months

Pretty happy with things at this stage. I've deliberately styled it to expose the transplanted areas, so excuse how messy it looks. Donor looks strong as hell. Also one photo under mild lighting with the hairline exposed.

When styled properly and under this sort of soft lighting there is already a massive improvement. It took 3 months for the rest of my hair to achieve good density and scalp coverage post-op due to the length issue and most of my sprouts started at around 3.5 months, so expecting at around 6.5 I'll be very happy.

Cooped up with assignments right now so haven't got a cut yet, but I'll take a chunk off in the next week or so and might post that.

Hey man! Congrats on the surgery and the 5 months result looks amazing! I also got my first hair transplant in April and my hair looks almost the same as yours right now at 5 months. I also created a thread about my transplant so you can check out my pictures too!

Your hair also looks a bit wispy and see through in certain lighting, I'm hoping it will thicken up over time as the hair mature. Can someone that has experience chime in on how much thickening and density can still be gained past 5 months for me and JeanLuc?

Also are you still seeing new hair sprout up?

Quick post-cut update. Hoping I have a long way to go with density, thickness and more sprouts, but finally feel I'm comfortably past the ugly duckling stage.

Lighting, lens, camera and distance make all the difference of course, but already a big improvement. Added a pre-surgery pic for comparison.

Looks really great man! Can you take a picture under a brighter light and closer up so we can get a clearer view of the hairline?

Did you make sure you saved enough grafts in the bank for your crown? very hard area to treat and yours looks thin

Your attempt to feign interest is lame, you've already taken a shot about his graft usage in another thread and if you really cared you'd have read the thread where he says he's got another 6500 grafts in reserve so yeah he's fine.

Very happy with everything at this stage. Already a massive difference, hoping for some density improvements and thickening but I've got what I set out to achieve at this point. No longer have to worry when going out about being thought of as a "balding" person or looking at myself in my phone to see if my hair looks ok.

Reference pic at 3 months.
