Regular Member windjc Posted December 29, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted December 29, 2009 How long does it typically take shockloss around the recipient area to grow back (assuming it does)? Thanks.
Dr. Glenn Charles
Some of the hairs that fall out due to shock will grow back just before or at the same time as the transplanted hairs (3-5 months). In cases where there are a lot of very weak, thin, dying hairs in the recipient area some of the shocked hairs will be lost permanantly. There is no current way to determine which patients will get shock loss and of those who do, how much is permanant loss versus temporary loss. JD1957
Dr Glenn. Thanks for the info. Is there any statistics on what % of HT patients get shockloss, and if so, how extensive?
