5000 grafts FUE - 13th/14th December - Asmed Dr Erdogan

Recommended Posts

5 Months Post Op

So it was officially 5 months yesterday. I'll stick to doing my weekly updates until month 6 and then switch to monthly as things seem to be gaining some momentum now. But I have posted two photos below so you can see where I am. I can see a lot more hairs coming through so I am hoping for the density and thickness to change a lot over the next month.

Nice mate. You're just behind me. I'm also concerned regarding density, but i'm hanging in there until the year is up. You're looking good so far..money well spent!!

Looking good mate and it's only 5m mark.

Do you have any crown photos at this stage too?

Will be going to Asmed later this year too.

Not much more to report. Some days I think it is getting better. Other days I think it hasn't improved. Whatever is happening, it's happening slowly!

The crown has definitely improved from where I started, as has the front to be honest but I still am a long way from where I want to be. It's hard to see if any new hairs are growing because of the other hairs now.

Yeah I'm sure it will get more dense but it's just odd why hairs all come out at their own time. I think by Month 6 I am will be in a much better position.

Added a crown pic in my last update. You will be in good hands.

I think you are coming along nicely.

Cheers pal, as are you.

As promised here is a comparison photo with Month 3,4 and 5. It's only when you look at these that you feel how far you've come. Month 3 is the top photo and Month 5 the bottom.

Frontal region, wet hair and the crown comparison.

Spex hits the nail on the head in his 'Patience post'. You do start to feel like you are having no more growth at this stage but it's just slow and gradual. I'm going to try not to check it every day but it is hard.

Very promising progress and the comparison pics certainly will help calm a lot of people, thanks for it. I think by the end of 7th month you'll be able to style it however you like

Still improving slowly and can see new hairs coming through still. Feeling more optimistic now but still a long way to go.

Still improving and can still see some new hairs coming through! Just waiting for the density to come through! Asmed said not to worry about density until 12 months and even 18 months in some cases. I'm almost getting to the point where I'm not conscious going out, with a little hair fibres applied it looks perfect but am using it sparingly!

Any feedback appreciated!

Looking really good. I'm assuming you don't have any fibres in the pictures though? Good to hear Asmed have assured you not to worry about density at this stage. I'm only about 7 weeks ahead of you and while I hadn't asked myself, I do sometimes focus/obsesss a little about my density (especially if I'm under a harsh light). Hopefully we'll have some good density gains in the coming months. :D

Thank you! Let's hope so! Bring on the day I wake up and it doesn't bother me!

No fibres in it for the photos. You had much more growth than me early on, mine seems to be slow and steady. I can still see hairs coming through now though. Yes hopefully by the end of this year we'll be there.

Will post a picture of my donor next week. It looks fine and I am having it cut to grade 1 and there is no visible scarring.

Good you are not conscious going out! Much improvement to come now!

Still a bit conscious but getting better all the time!

Strangely enough, I seem to have seen some more density in the past week. This could be because I had a much shorter hair cut at the weekend but it has lifted my spirits regardless. I can still see lots of new hairs and some really fine ones so I am feeling very hopeful for the next few months.

I've got to the point where I am not styling my hair and leaving it as it is after washing and colleagues are telling me how thick it is looking. I know I have more density to come but even at this point, it's framed my face so nicely and I look younger and better than I have over the past 10 years.

I should add lots of the new hairs are quite frizzy but have been told they will settle down as they mature.

6 months next week!

I've put a few different photos at the end so you can see how it looks naturally in different lighting. First two wet, second two damp, third two dry. As you may tell I'm feeling really positive at the minute.

TBH, I do think that having it shorter really helps. I notice mine definately looks a lot stronger when shorter.

As for the fuzziness, I totally know where you are coming. I found the front looked a little wiry and fuzzy going back a month or two, especially when it was a little longer. From what I can see its partly down to split ends. But its already improved since then and I had a good cut about 3 weeks ago and that really helped get rid of some of split ends. I have also read that the new hair texture improves over time.
