Regular Member Justhadtransplant Posted October 8, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted October 8, 2016 I had a hair transplant on august 29th. My scalp has healed a lot but is still pink. Is there any way to end this pinkness? I have a fair complexion:( Any product that would aid in the final healing of the scalp? Thanks to all who respond! Senior Member Transhair Posted October 8, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted October 8, 2016 Contact your surgeon, or see a doctor in person. in the off chance that it's caused by infection or something. For the most part you just want to keep the scalp healthy so it heals well on its own, keep it moisturized and clean let it do the best job it can. Doing this with products with anti inflammatory properties like aloe vera are popular here.
Senior Member Tj287 Posted October 8, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted October 8, 2016 Hi Justhadtransplant, do not worry, it can really linger unfortunately. In my case the redness was apparent for over 2 months. I also have fair skin, which takes longer to come back to normal. Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted October 9, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted October 9, 2016 Prolonged redness happens to some of us. My scalp remained pinkish for months after my first hair transplant. It's never a bad idea to check in with your doc if you feel something is wrong but I'm sure you're fine. It will calm down in time. David - Former Forum Co-Moderator and Editorial Assistant I am not a medical professional. All opinions are my own and my advice should not constitute as medical advice. Regular Member robc Posted October 10, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted October 10, 2016 Hi Just HT, I have fair skin also, took about 4-5 months for most of the red/pink to leave completely. Sucks I know, just need to be patient and ride it out.

Regular Member azdz Posted October 10, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted October 10, 2016 Glad to know how long the scalp stays red. It helps for planning a HT.
Senior Member Transhair Posted October 11, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted October 11, 2016 Mine's still red at 8 months. Bathroom lighting seems to aggravate it Seen 3 GPs, a hair transplant surgeon and none of them said anything looked wrong with it outside of the redness. Still seeing a local derm after the huge waiting list.
