hair greed is so real

Hey guys , do you think my hairline would benefit with a small touch up ? I love to spike my hair up ,but that weaker side really ruins the symmetry ! I had 2200 grafts on my hairline 4 years ago and I'm maintaining well with the drugs (I'm 33 now ).

So my thoughts are do I get a touch up now and wear my hair how I like it ,or wait years for my hair to bald more then go for a larger session . Grr I'm so close to having my dream hairline ?Help me out guys

Unless you have aggressive hairloss, I wouldnt even think of getting a transplant for at least the next 2 to 3 years.

So no!!

Go on Fin/MX first and see how it goes

I've been taking Fin/minox for 7 years now

There is probably a doctor who will do it for you, but IMO you dont need it.

You also dont know how your hairloss will progress over next 10 to 20 years, so you're making a bit of a gamble with the whole thing

Honestly if you were to have another procedure, it would probably be about another 1,500 grafts to lower it and get good density, so now were looking at almost 4K grafts just in your hairline alone, you're still only 33, what about when you're 43, 53, 63? how much hair will you lose, how will a straight low hairline look? I know there are some guys on here who have transplanted over 4K grafts just to the hairline I would never do that.

Hair loss is unpredictable and age isn't always fail proof, there are plenty of guys who lost their hair in their 50's. I think it's wise to conserve grafts and manage your donor so that you have enough grafts to fix issues down the line if they are to arise. Transplanting 4K grafts to your hairline alone would mean using more than half of your donor capacity in one small area.

I like to use the war analogy, if you only have a set number of ammunition, but you have 4 sections that are under attack that need protecting, why on earth would you waste over half of your ammunition on one section? Remember finasteride and minoxidil are not cures to hair loss they only slow it down. Your hair looks great man, plenty of people are born with asymmetrical hairlines, the only person who probably notices is you.

I think do it if you have the money. You're a better than average candidate.

This time I would say go to a hairline expert like a Konior, Shapiro, Rahal etc.

4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013

1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018

763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020

Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day

I say no because there really isnt anything wrong your hairline abd you have complained in the past about midscalp thinning. Good luck either way

No idea I thought it looked pretty straight when the surgeon drew the line pre op

Your hair looks really good it must have been a good transplant but your hairline is uneven indeed, why did your surgeon design it like this? Nevertheless, don't touch it.

I'm a noob poster to this forum (looooong time lurker though), but my understanding is that they try to make it irregular when they implant to mimic nature. Your hair looks great man!

On an unrelated note, did you do FUT the first time?

I wish my hair looked this good. You'r hair looks good...actually really good. You don't want to be too perfect as it will look like a Ken doll hairline...unless this is the look you are going for? If you do this, when does the satisfaction end? Just something to ponder.

Kind of funny what happened today lol

I'm a part time personal trainer so naturally I work close with clients , anyway today one particular lady just keeps having a dig at my hair ! I got featured in a local magazine with a few pictures posted of me, and she immediately focused on my hair saying it looks like I wear a toupee haha Then in front of other people in the office she asks me to pull my hairline back I obviously did ,otherwise she would suspect it's a wig haha So she stared at it for a while and just said ,you've had some work done right ? I was like nooo... what are you on about haha

I think maybe the wig like appearance is from the hairline being too harsh and the fact my temple points are too far back ?

Pea

I think your hair looks great. I don't really think you should lower it anymore, however if it's something you really wanna do I would say go for it. Your hair certainly looks stable and you look like a great candidate for any hair transplant procedure as it's not gonna take much.

Like someone suggested, I'd certainly go with a great hairline doctor....

Damn did this really happen? I won't lie I would be pretty wrecked if that happened to me, why would she do that, I don't understand even if you were wearing a toupee why would she point it out, she's just trying to intentionally make you feel bad. What if you asked if she was wearing a fat suit and said tug at your love handles to confirm its real. I mean wtf, I feel pissed off for you man. The hairline isn't the most natural hairline I've seen, I mean you're young so possibility still exist of needing more grafts in the future, but if people are calling you out on it and making you feel bad then go for it. I know speaking for myself I would not be cool with people saying I wear a toupee.

Yeah it sucks! I've been called out many times.

This one time I was training a new client I noticed he kept looking up at my hair, then finally he asks me who did my hair ? Lol and My boss just randomly said you've had plugs right ?

Especially when I style my hair up it causes attention . I know I can fix it so that's what's bugging me . I think it's the gaps make it look obvious ,you never have gaps in your hair it just thins . I have gaps ,but the hair is healthy and thick so it looks stalky

Damn man I didn't know it was that bad, if several people have said this to you then it's time to get it fixed. Who was your doctor? This time what ever you do go to a hairline specialist, I can vouch for my doctor Dr. Diep. But there's plenty of great doctors out there, who ever you go to make sure they have a large hairline before and after video collection, of not only hairlines but temporal peaks as well. The main goal over everything should be naturalness, it doesn't matter if you have thick dense coverage if it looks unnatural.
