Senior Member Ernie Posted January 11, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted January 11, 2017 I've considered cutting the rest of my hair, as it looks quite awkward right now, however I decided to give it another month and cut it once I hit 5 months since the procedure. I'll keep you posted. I think I buzzed all mine to the same length at about 3-4 months. Definitely was a good idea as it reinvigorated me and gave me a confidence boost 3185 FUT with Dr. Rahal on 2/17/16 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/182611-fut-3185-dr-rahal-day-after-pics.html 1204 FUT with Dr. Rahal on 3/27/17 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/186586-round-2-rahal-1204-fut-frontal-third-same-area.html ---> total of 4389 grafts to my frontal third via FUT ---> 1mg finasteride daily since 1999

Senior Member JustJax Posted January 22, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted January 22, 2017 Ah lol. Well the papers I got from Asmed say "no hairdresser before 2 months since the HT". Renaissance, check your notes, my Asmed notes definitely says 1 month not 2.
PeloDinero
Renaissance, question about your pre-op photos? Is the area outline at 100 c^2 really only 100 cm^2? If so, that gives me serious hope.

Is the area outline at 100 c^2 really only 100 cm^2? If so, that gives me serious hope" Well dunno, that's what Dr Koray wrote Anyway, here's my 5 month update: hair continues to grow. It's obviously a bit hard to see the new sprouts due to the hair that's already there, but at least in the hairline where it's easier I see new ones coming since the month 4 mark. My biggest satisfaction at this point in time is that I feel that I don't look bald or balding anymore, but rather like someone who has thin hair. As you can see in the pictures the density can still improve, as the hair looks thin under harsh light, but under normal light it actually looks like I have hair (see the very last picture) Also, people are starting to notice the transformation. I've had an acquaintance ask me straight out where I did it Ah...and I had a haircut. My hairdresser, who had last seen me before the procedure was super impressed with the result so far and especially with the fact that no thinning is visible in the donor areas. So, looking forward to the month 6 mark and hopefully some thickening
Regular Member WillHT Posted February 7, 2017 Regular Member Share Posted February 7, 2017 Looking like really solid progress. You must be pretty happy, especially with even more growth time left! Hahaa, what did you say to the person who correctly guessed you had a HT? I know that a lot of colleagues/friends and family members who will pretty much guess and wont be shy in shouting it and I dont wanna tell them! lol

joee1990
looks good mate! but i have a question, you hair was brown. why is it black now?
Regular Member renaissance Posted February 10, 2017 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 10, 2017 Will: just told them the truth. I'm not hiding it and I'm also not advertising it. JustJax: by looking at the pictures, yes. By looking in the mirror, also yes, though not so much because it's harder now to see new hairs popping up (I basically just see them in the hairline, thankfully they do pop up there). Also looking every day in the mirror means it's hard to "feel" changes. There were some wow moments though, some days after a wash and blow dry it just dawned on me that there was more hair somehow! Joee1990: lol, hadn't really noticed. But looking at the pics from the first page and latest...You're right! I can only put it down to the lighting tbh. Regular Member whyohwhy12345 Posted February 11, 2017 Regular Member Share Posted February 11, 2017 Hi, Tks for telling your story with us. What is your donor capacity? Does Dr. Koray advise if you need another transplant in the future if your hair loss advances?
Regular Member renaissance Posted February 11, 2017 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 11, 2017 It's in my first post (tl;dr 7900). It's quite possible I will need another procedure in a few years, especially for the crown.
Regular Member renaissance Posted April 4, 2017 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 4, 2017 Time flies: sorry I forgot to post an update at 6 months  I'm now almost 7 months after the procedure. Overall between months 5 and 6 I've seen a considerable amount of "thickening", not sure if more hairs popped up or it's just the hair texture changing, but several times when looking in the mirror I was like "wow, when did I get more hair?!". I haven't had a haircut in 2.5 months so I'm way overdue (as you can see from the pictures), will post some more pics after I get one, which should hopefully be soon In any case, I'm pretty thrilled with the outcome, I can actually go out and not fear the wind anymore , drive with the window rolled down etc...awesomeness! And, as I'm at 7 months, I guess I can look forward to even greater things!

Regular Member renaissance Posted April 24, 2017 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 24, 2017 Here I am 7.5 months post-op and after a haircut. I'm very happy with the results so far. One thing I noticed recently is that when washing my hair I see some hairs on my hands in the shower. Maybe 10-20 hairs on average. They seem to be coming from the top, as they are longer than the (freshly short cut) others. Not sure if it's just the hair loss continuing from the non-transplanted area or just broken hairs that will eventually regrow or what. I'm currently using Molton Brown Thickening shampoo, but I'll soon switch to Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Shampoo which is sulfate-free and maybe better overall. Any other recommendations are appreciated

lookingforadr
This looks sooooo good!! Congrats. I've been messaging Dr Koray Erdogans team for months now and usually I get ignored but when I do get a reply they don't answer my questions anyone know why this would be? I'm trying to book a HT with them. Maybe my money isn't good enough.
