Senior Member hairlosscpa Posted September 21, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted September 21, 2016 (edited) Hi All, I had a 2,500 graft procedure with Dr. Vories focused on my hairline, midscalp and FUT scar concealment on September 18th, 2015. You can follow my progress in the thread linked in my signature below. I decided to create another thread specifically for my 1 year results. Since my procedure, I have been on .25/mg Propecia every other day (every day since last month) and Kirkland Minoxidil at least 1x/day. My pictures below are in the following order: 1) Pre-op, before any transplants with Dr. True and Dr. Vories (first 3) 2) Pre-op pics before Dr. Vories and 3 years after Dr. True (next 3) 3) Immediate post-op with Dr. Vories (next 3) 4) 1 year progress (last 6) I notice a little inconsistency in the density in my hairline (left side denser than right) but not too noticeable. Overall, I am happy. Please provide your feedback, thanks! Senior Member aWidowsPeek Posted September 21, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted September 21, 2016 Looking good. Seems like that True fut was a waste of time and money. I like the hairline. Looks like the meds have really filled in your crown area. Nice!
Senior Member HairLostYears Posted September 22, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted September 22, 2016 Yea, I'd guess you wish you had just gone with Dr. Vories from the get-go? He seems to consistently get outstanding growth. Honestly, my initial reaction here was 'too low, too straight'. That's just me imagining how it would look on me though. I'll never have Perry Farrell hair, especially at Perry Farrell's age. Maybe you could.

Senior Member ontop Posted September 22, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted September 22, 2016 Looking gooe buddy. just a few questions. What size was your 1st HT? Have you any pictures before you started your journey? In your 1st HT do you feel that you had some permanent shock loss in zone 2? Did Dr Vories strengthen up your hairline or lowered it in anyway? How do you feel the medications are doing for your hairloss?

I attached side profile views, in-person it really doesn't seem that way. Haha, Perry Farrell's hair is amazing, no way I can obtain that density. 1st Procedure, Oct. 2012 - 1,704 grafts FUT w/Dr. True 2nd Procedure, Sept. 2015 - 2500 grafts FUE w/Dr. Vories FUE Progress - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/180966-my-experience-w-dr-vories-2-500-grafts.html FUE 1 year result - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/184716-1-year-results-2-500-grafts-w-dr-vories.html

How do you feel the medications are doing for your hairloss? Thanks man. I'll number your questions and answer them accordingly: 1) 1700 grafts FUT 2) My first 3 pics in my initial post are before I started my journey i.e. before any hair transplants with Dr. True and Dr. Vories. I attached 2 more pics BEFORE any procedures. 3) I don't think I had any permanent shockloss, hair looked pretty good 2 years post-op and then it was downhill my third year. I just think I lost more hair as I wasn't taking any meds either. 4) Dr. Vories did lower my hairline and strengthen it. Still higher than my original hairline before I started losing any hair 5) I'm not too sure about the Propecia since I've only been taking .25 mg/day, but my rationale is that something is better than nothing. No sides either. Rogaine has definitely helped a lot. I never had any grafts transplanted to my crown. Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted September 23, 2016 Administrators Share Posted September 23, 2016 Wow great results, I give Dr. Vories all the credit your HT definitely had a great yield, I also believe you have responded extraordinarily well to the medications, you can see your crown and upper midscalp where grafts weren't implanted have improved immensely, so much so that you don't even look like you're balding anymore. I've said it before but I really do believe hair loss meds work best on diffuse thinners like yourself, I am also a diffuse thinner but I did not get on the meds quick enough to have such an effect, you caught it just in time, again congrats I'm very happy for you. So now you look all set & you look great, you did well to do your homework & picking a good Doctor. congratulations

HTsoon, thanks for your comments. I didn't realize the extent the medication was working until I made this thread and performed a comparison. If anything, this whole time I thought I was just maintaining. After my first HT with Dr. True, I was taking 1mg propecia every day and was an amazing responder to it. I attached a pic from 6 months after my first procedure with Dr. True while on 1mg propecia daily. I was on that regimen for 5 months until I had to stop due to sides which I couldn't ignore. That's why I started taking .25mg every other day after my Vories FUE procedure and recently moved my way up to .25mg everyday. 1st Procedure, Oct. 2012 - 1,704 grafts FUT w/Dr. True 2nd Procedure, Sept. 2015 - 2500 grafts FUE w/Dr. Vories FUE Progress - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/180966-my-experience-w-dr-vories-2-500-grafts.html FUE 1 year result - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/184716-1-year-results-2-500-grafts-w-dr-vories.html

If I were to maintain or slow things down drastically for the next 30+ years, I would be extremely happy, haha. I'm only 29, and I know it isn't the smartest thing to have two HT before my 30's as my hair loss can progress exponentially, but overall is really has boosted my confidence which has helped me tremendously in advancing in my career. Senior Member mosd Posted January 29, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted January 29, 2017 that really is a dilemma. Do we know how the hair loss progresses or how aggressive its going to be?
Senior Member hairlosscpa Posted January 31, 2017 Author Senior Member Share Posted January 31, 2017 Unfortunately that evaluation was not provided to me. It definitely concerns me though. My family doesn't have aggressive hairloss (no high NWs). Diffuse thinning is common though which I have sort of addressed with my HTs and meds. 1st Procedure, Oct. 2012 - 1,704 grafts FUT w/Dr. True 2nd Procedure, Sept. 2015 - 2500 grafts FUE w/Dr. Vories FUE Progress - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/180966-my-experience-w-dr-vories-2-500-grafts.html FUE 1 year result - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/184716-1-year-results-2-500-grafts-w-dr-vories.html
