timemachine
Hello guys, I just signed up on this forum but I’ve been an observer for a while now. I finally pulled a trigger and I am going for my first procedure with Dr. Glenn Charles at his Boca Raton location. I visited him over 6 months ago but I’ve been in touch with his office staff over emails. Once I decided to go for the surgery, I had few chat with their office staff to go over the procedure. They said I don’t have to visit the office for any prior consultation and just show up at the day of the surgery. They emailed me information that I need to follow pre and post procedure. My question to this forum is that is there anything else I need to either ask or do before and on the day of my surgery? I’ve heard in the past that certain doctors like to see your old pictures before hair loss to make sure the new hairline is natural. I was not asked to bring in any old pictures. Does anyone else think going for 2500 graft is good idea or I should do more or less?
Senior Member JON86 Posted March 14, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted March 14, 2016 What work are you having done? You talk about the hairline but are showing overhead pictures of the mid scalp and crown. usually 2500 takes care of the frontal third into the mid scalp. I know this doctor has been using artas lately are you getting an artas procedure? If you are asking that 2500 grafts will cover the loss you show in these pictures it looks more like 4000 grafts or more. Usually on a first procedure a doctor will concentrate on framing the face and fixing the hair line.
Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted March 14, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted March 14, 2016 Jon raised some excellent questions. Can you provide us with more details regarding the hair restoration plan? David - Former Forum Co-Moderator and Editorial Assistant I am not a medical professional. timemachine
Thank you JON for responding, He'll be doing FUT procedure. I'll post front-on pictures for you to get better idea. During my first consultation, he mentioned that I have good volume on the front , he'll be working more toward front and mid scalp and leave crown for the first procedure and recommended me to use rogaine for the crown. Can a doctor do 4000 grafts in one procedure? Does any one have any prior experience with this particular doctor?
