Hi everyone,

Underwent FUE procedure by Dr Tejinder Bhatti at Darling Buds Clinic, Chandigarh for hairline and temples.

Total Graft Count: 2251

Singles: 582

Doubles: 1257

Triples: 412

The Search:

My search for Hair transplant clinics and doctors started in 2015. Delhi has a lot of clinics and a lot of doctors so decided to check out few of them, as it would be really comfortable to get the procedure done in the city you live in.

All of the people I met were not interested to do FUE on me stating that I would not get the density and the result I wished for. I was always sure of not going in for FUT, as I just cannot live with a scar and the thought of someone ‘opening my head’.

Their aggressive chasing with schemes and discounts popping out of nowhere also put me off.

Through this forum, go to know about Dr Bhatti reading very positive reviews.

Shot the clinic an email the next day with pictures of my current condition of hair loss and was really surprised to receive an email within 12 hours of my query. Immediately booked an appointment to meet him in person for a consultation.

Got a date for February 5th, 2106. Paid an advance.

The initial date of Feb 5th was postponed to Feb 6th by the clinic to which I agreed.

Few points to note:

Only received answers to my queries and in no way were there any mention of price or asking for any deposit from him or the clinic. This impressed me.

Emails were replied swiftly and professionally & Dr Bhatti himself does this.

Upon meeting him, he was highly impressed by HRN’s reach and all the good it is doing for

hair loss sufferers like myself around the world.

Accommodation:

I stayed at Hotel Ab’s in Sector 17. The hotel was recommended & booked by Dr Bhatti’s Clinic. The hotel although small is very comfortable and the best part was the room service. You basically get delicious food and in the least time I’ve ever seen in any hotel. The food comes from a very famous restaurant in Chandigarh called Hot Millions. The best part of staying at this hotel: It’s 2-3 minute walk to reach Darling Buds Clinic. No car needed.

Tip: try and pay a little extra to get the Luxury room, which is bigger and airy with nice big windows & views of the market.

Travel:

I travelled from Delhi to Chandigarh by car. Takes about 5 hours.

Make sure you have someone drive you back, as it is not advisable to drive yourself after the procedure.

Had doubts of being able to sit comfortably in the car for 5-6 hours after the procedure but it turned out to be extremely relaxing.

Make sure the driver drives a little slow & all will be good.

Pre procedure day 02/05/16:

Arrived in Chandigarh around 2:30pm. Checked in to hotel and directly went for my pre procedure consultation. Dr was very welcoming, inquiring about my journey and if everything was okay. I was nervous and anxious but he really made me comfortable and his confidence made me sure I was going to be okay in his hands. Finally the realization setting in that its time to get some new hair!

We discussed the hairline with 2 options. One being an aggressive hairline, which I was wanting another being a little rounded. Dr & I both agreed on the more aggressive hairline with well-defined temples that would suit my face. Around 2200 grafts were what was decided I would need.

Make sure to take pictures of the hairline & think over any changes/modifications that evening.

Next, was time to fill out some forms and received a small medicine kit, which I needed to take the same night. The staff explained the medicines and their uses.

Was told to reach the clinic by 9:15am and there would be someone to pick me up from hotel at 9am. Payments made, receipts collected. Time to get back to the hotel and get some sleep and ready myself for the next day!

Day of procedure 02/06/16:

7:05 am – The Phone call:

2 rings on the wired phone of my hotel room really got me confused who was calling so early in the morning. Turned out to be Shalini from the clinic who asked if I could come in before 8am, as my procedure has been preponed.

I gladly said yes and went off to get ready.

8am:

Was received at the clinic by Shalini and asked if I had some breakfast and if I was carrying any valuables. You are given a locker/safe with a personalized key and off went my mobile, ring & wallet. Quickly got dressed in a good looking and clean OT dress and went in to meet Dr Bhatti the final time to discuss the hairline.

Hairline discussed and agreed as the previous day and pictures clicked.

Had nice fresh juice and off to the trimming area where he himself trims the hair. Had a few good jokes with him making me all the more relaxed.

Was given a nice wash by the staff with special shampoo and was instructed time and again not to touch my head.

Next was time for blood collection. I think this was the only needle that hurt the most the entire procedure.

8:30am:

Time to take my place on the OT bed. Dr Bhatti worked away setting up all the things needed with his tech/nurses while I sit in excitement. So much attention for my bald head :)

The Dr explains each and every step before touching your head, which works well as you are aware of what is happening next.

It is now time to get your head in the hole lying on your stomach. This was not as fun as it reads. Very uncomfortable position and Dr began with the anesthesia, which really didn’t feel more than a pin-prick. The nurses tap your head to distract you from the pricks, which works well to take your mind off. Very comfortable.

My heart was racing maybe from being anxious about what the next thing would be and Dr advised me to relax and take my mind off from the procedure and think of something else.

Harvesting began and I did not feel a thing the entire time. Just some noises in your ear, which are not that bad. Given a nice blanket to keep me warm. There’s music playing on the stereo, which makes the ambience very relaxing.

After harvesting, was time to make slits in the recipient area and Dr began with anesthesia to numb the area. The needles here did hurt me a little but not to the point of concern. Slit making was also comfortable with some weird noises.

Dr keeps humoring you and making sure you are okay. Lot of chit-chat also going on.

Shared jokes and laughs during the entire time and all the staff were so friendly and caring. The doctor and the nurses continuously keep asking if you are okay.

I had lost track of time but guess it was around 11-11:30 when the harvesting, slit making finished and time to go to the other room for plantation.

11:30am:

Was taken into another room where some biscuits and nice fresh juice were waiting for me. Had to take some medicines along with this. Was given a washroom break, as it is not recommended to use the washroom during plantation.

Shalini and Poonam were the techs working on my head. The position you sit/lie down is very comfortable and a blanket was given to keep me warm. There is a television in the room with channels of your choice. We chose to listen to some music and the entire process was effortless. For me!

The entire team, they keep checking on you to make sure you are comfortable and whether you need anything. We chatted a lot but they are so hard working and focused on the work that you know you are again in good hands!

Managed to catch a good half hour sleep also here. Dr Bhatti keeps checking in to see how things are going.

This was the longest procedure and finished around 1:45 pm.

2pm:

Got cleaned up and changed into my own clothes after a little dressing.

Fresh hot food and a drink were arranged by the clinic from the restaurant Hot Millions downstairs.

Made few calls back home to inform how I was doing.

The nurses keep checking on you and making sure you are good.

Never in my life have I been asked so many times how I am doing!

Now came time for the dressing. Dr Bhatti does the dressing himself and explains you the post care for the first night, which is the most important.

All the things now sound a little scary, as you need to be careful and make sure to follow all instructions.

Was told me come to the clinic the next morning for a hair wash which is done by the Tech.

Post dressing, went to meet Shalini and was instructed about the medications I need to take that night. The rest post-op care would be explained the following day. Time to say thanks and goodbye to everyone at the clinic.

Dr. Bhatti was kind enough to have his driver – Vikas (top guy) drive me back to my hotel. He also has acquired lot of knowledge about HT and really made me comfortable assuring me not to worry about anything and take care of my new grafts!

I slept fairly late that night as advised by the Dr. You need to keep spraying the saline spray every 20 minutes and that does keep your mind awake. Had a nice room service dinner and took medications as given. Slept well on a chair in bits and pieces but woke fresh in the morning.

Day After Procedure 02/07/16:

Went in for my wash at 9am to the clinic. Amazing weather, good sleep & a nice breakfast was the perfect start to the day.

Was given a shampoo wash. Fresh dressing was done for the donor. Bandana was put on, as I had to travel by car back to Delhi.

Received a care kit and medicines for the next 2 weeks.

Explained well in detail and all this comes in writing in the form of a booklet for you to go through in case of doubt.

Medical clearance letter, receipts, post op care kit, blood test reports, bandana, 6months of Finasteride, Biotin & Minoxydil all packed up in a nice bag by Darling Buds and time to go home! :)

I would now like to thank Dr Bhatti and his entire team of staff, right from his nurses, techs, driver and office boy, everyone who made me feel so special and comfortable.

The team at Darling Buds really feels and works like a happy family & was very happy to be in such an environment.

Thanks for reading. Look forward to your opinions/suggestion.

Attached are pre-op & few post-op pictures.

@Indi9

Unfortunately, i dont have that info. The dr or someone else would be able to answer this question.

I'm at 5 days post op today, having some stinging pain in the donor time & again. Numbness is still present. Crusts have not fallen.

What should i be expecting in the coming few days?

Just follow the post op care regime prescribe by Dr. Bhatti.

Yes the occasional sudden pain (like pricks, or stings) some times in the donor area will last for a while 4-5 weeks. Apply Aloe Vera lotion there for quick healing.

Hi Rohbee10,

Congratulations on having your hair transplant with Dr Bhatti and thanks again for taking the time to complete such a detailed and informative write up.

The lightning pain you describe will go after a few weeks, I myself got quite used to it and in a strange way, kind of missed it when it was gone.

I hope you keep us all updated with your progress and as always if you have any concerns, please feel free to ask, the excellent service and care you have received thus far does not stop immediately post procedure.

I wish you all the best and hope your results will be on a par with mine.

Shera, Thanks for the support & wishes! :)

Got a smile on my face, when you said you missed the lightning pain.

Still have stinging pain in the donor but all at bearable level.

The right side of my donor area seems to be healing slower than the rest which is causing me a little pain along with swelling.

The pain medicines turned out to be too strong for me to handle hence i have stopped taking them for now.

At 10 days post op & was a little worried as i have not seen any crusts falling.

Contacted Dr Bhatti with recent pictures & he suggested to follow the aftercare as per plan.

plz update with your latest pics , hows your hair growing. I have a doubt why there is a gap between each grafts, doesnt it effect the density of hair after they grow.

can any on tell about all these punjabi music industry singers really gone through HT from dr. bhatti, or its just a publicity stunt by making youtube videos. As looking their hair its seems so densed. But in real website of darling buds (before/after) pics seems to have low density achieved by clients. Plz help as i was also facinated by such vidoes and planning to go for HT.

Can't really comment on the singers but a lot of celebrities have had HT's, a lot also use concealer too.
