My 2-month update.

A few stubbles growing in, other then that not a whole lot new to report.

I also had a bit diffuse thinning in my forelock, but its growing back quickly and I wouldnt call it shock loss because its so insignificant.

Most of the red is gone, and I've also grown a lot of pimples (which you cant really see in the pic).

I've been told pimples are a good thing, and could signify new growth

Looks good Dutchie. Im around the same time line as yourself but i'm still very red and plenty of pimples.

Dutchie,

Looking good in terms of healing at two months for someone with pale skin you have healed very well with minimal redness. Back to the pre op stage more or less.

Thanks David. I did everything by the book cause I didnt want to mess with my $17,000 investment:

- I used the non-toxic shampoo.

- I used the neck pillow for 2 weeks, not just for a few days.

- I didnt fly home to Toronto till day 9.

- No alcohol for 2 weeks (not easy for me )

- I've watched my diet.

- I take supplements like fish oil, amino acids, vitamins, MSM....etc daily.

If I dont get the maximum hairgrowth out of this then its certainly not for something I did wrong at my end :)

Good going Dutchie! Happy for you :)

How is the scar looking?

And how are you taking care of it?

I look like a Vietnam war victim. Hasson did a horrible job!!!

Nah just kidding. Scar looks good other then there's still a bit of redness there along the sides of my head, but not the rear-head.

My top scalp redness is actually healing faster than my scar redness

Ha Ha :) Good to hear.

Can you please share some photos?

Thx in advance

I have. Or do you mean pics of the scar??

I dont think you can see much of the redness because my hair because my hair is 2cm long right now.

Let me try and see what my amateur photography skills can come up with

I tried, but the scars dont show up in the pics at all, neither does the scar redness.

So its futile to post those pics.

Here's a better pic of my pimples though. You can see a dozen or so big ones, but there's 20 or 30 more small ones you cant see in this pic.

You can also see some stubbles

Recipient area is healing very nicely and good redness reduction. I still have lingering pinkness in the recipient area (which you can't see unless you really look for it up close and through my new hairs). But it does cause a bit of concern for me when I decide to eventually shave my head if my MPB progresses in my later years.. Hopefully by then the redness will be completely gone...

I heard it can take up to a year for some guys to completely go away

I just shedded about a thousand hairs and now I'm even more bald then I was 3 months ago!!!

Please tell me this is normal!!

Is this part of the regrowth process or something??

Oh no!! Whats going on??!!!!

This is perfectly normal Dutchie, you got shock loss, did you just start taking minoxidil and finasteride recently? this could also add to the initial shock loss period.

I think I know what happened, I briefly switched to 10% minoxidil w/ azelaic acid and thats what probably caused the excessive shedding.

So I went back to my regular 5% MX and the shedding has stopped :)

Really puts a scare into you though  :(

Okay, so here is month-3 update. I already have quite a few hairs coming through.

I also tried to take a pic of my FUT scar, except I can barely find it

I think I got at least another 3,000 FUE grafts in the bank.

I got good lateral humps, good nape hair and virtually no retrograde alopecia

Month 3.5 update. I'm growing hair like crazy.

Check out the difference. First pic was 14 days ago:

This pic was taken today. Keep in mind this was taken under very harsh lighting right after a shower:

It's looking good Dutchie...big difference

H&W have said they could get 4000+ grafts for me but the fut scar is a concern

Rashid, I would jump on that plane first thing you get the chance and get that HT at Hasson & Wong's.

Maybe even ask Christine to put you on a standby list??

You only have 1 life and only so much time. I wouldnt worry about that FUT scar, mine is very minimal.

Also when H&W says they can only get 4,000 they are being very conservative and dont ewanna disappoint you. With me they estimated 3,500 grafts or so, but wound up getting 4,200.

My guess is they can probably get close to 5,000 with you, but they're not gonna tell you this so not to raise false hope
