Haksss Posted December 16, 2015 Share Posted December 16, 2015 Hi Guys, I have been investigating HT in Turkey as it seems to be very popular there amongst tourists. However, 2 things have taken my attention firstly its hard to tell which clinic is good because there are a lot of conflicting stories on review sites. One place to be careful of I am told is Whatclinic.com regarding reviews because this site gets commission of some sort from the clinics and they are all paid reviews. When I was browsing thru their site I noticed I didnt come across any negative reviews. Now that is not something that you come across often. But when I researched the same clinic thru are review sites, BINGO! there were mixed reviews which seemed more realistic in their comments. So be sure not to solely rely on Whatclinic.com when researching clinics. The other thing is the cost. Some of these clinics are doing FUE treatment for a fixed price of approx $1690 euros includes airport transfers, breakfast and 2 days hotel accomadation. Regardless of wether it is 500 grafts or 4000 grafts. Whats more interesting is they are claiming to be able to do 4000 to 5000 grafts in 8 hours (is that possible?). The clinics claiming this are Transest and Cosmedica in Istanbul, Turkey. Does anyone know of any good Dr's in Turkey. Thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think one important factor about these big clinics which claim to have multiple doctors generally get unqualified doctors/assistants/nurses to do the procedure to the point where the Turkish government has now made it a legal requirement for a qualified surgeon to be doing the HT surgery from start to finish. I think I will be getting Dr Gokhan Gur from Istanbul to do HT in January/February. My cousin and a few of his friends used him and said he was great and most importantly he deals with you personally and does the surgery himself. Also I couldnt find any bad reviews about this doctor. My decision is purely based on those factors. Senior Member Petchski Posted December 16, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted December 16, 2015 4000 grafts in 8 hours, i don't think so...even if they did achieve that the top FUE docs can only do 3000 grafts in one day depending on the patient, but even then it would probably take 10 hours, so i'd stay well clear of that clinic. I will do a thourough write up about my experience soon, but im currently travelling through thailand, cambodia an australia. Have i taken a big risk going to this clinic ? Yes i have......dr does extractions and slits, technicians place the grafts.. It was a risk no doubt so time will tell. I went for a very conservative hairline. From what i have heard about this clinic they do hit the results. Its a basic clinic, aftercare isnt great, english isnt great, its what it says on the tin. I went in with my eyes wide open. 'Whatclinic' isn't a website that is regulated by any hair loss authority or agency. Reviews are in the forums. Take your time and find the results, but only believe a percentage of what you read. If you can't find a clinic's results, it may not be the one that you should consult, or it may not be in your most convenient geographical locations. A person looking for hair transplant surgery has to know that the outcome will be a natural-looking result. It's sad that repair costs more than the hair transplant. Labor is the greatest factor in pricing. A clinic performing 4000 FUE grafts in 8 hours is suspect. Experience is proven with the evidence of aesthetically pleasing results. My opinions are my own. I got a reply back straight away saying 1900€ for unlimited grafts fue . does this sound right? They said they can do 4000 in 8 hours. Does the doctor do the surgery? Any pics of your procedure. We have the expertise and equipment and the doctors so does it boil down to just greedy doctors who want to peel as much money from his patients! Surely if they were doing as many transplant per day as doctors in Turkey they could afford it? Why would you pay so much more to a UK doctor?
