Hi

Most people have written about the process so I wont bother you with a long post. I will just post a few things that I didnt expect.

- The surgery itself was very tiring, it took 11-12 hours and took its toll on my neck and back.

- Your head is bloody and your pillow is a bloody mess the next 2-3-4 (5) days.

- The anesthetic slowly moves down from your scalp and transforms you into an alien-looking creature. I looked like an alien for about 1 whole week.

- After the scabs came off, I felt good. My head wasnt very red and I looked good for about 2-3 weeks before it started shedding. Shedding was gradual.

- No coworkers said anything, I had 3 weeks off from work but when I returned noone said anything. I had a couple of weird looks but nothing more.

- I had some complications, a few small areas where the scabs maybe got infected, or wasnt washed properly, or dried along with antiseptic/blood and became hard. I went through a process where I was using anti-biotic and anti-septic on some areas because of this. Unfortunately this effected my transplant badly. The hairs in this area are now very hard compared to the rest of the head. I dont think they have shed yet. I asked mr Clemens Weber and he asked the doctor. They said that the hairs havent shed in this area yet probably and that there is a possibilty they wont grow. He said they had a similar case two years ago where it did not grow out in a small area but that had a nice overall result. I will post pictures from this process.

- Mr. Clemens has been very very very helpful throughout this process, answering my emails everyday for 2-3 weeks. And obviously he had to check with the doctor so they were both helpful.

- I lost some stuff at the hotel, Mr Clemens had this shipped to me. Excellent service.

- The hotel burger wasnt bad, I just ate burgers all the time and watched movies through streaming - good internet connection in the hotel. Nice, clean hotel.

- The nurses didnt speak english, this was very boring after a few hours.

- I noticed that the nurses took a side of my head each. I dont think this is a good thing, I believe I can definitely notice two different patterns of placement of the hairs on the two sides. If the would have switched a few times I think it would be better.

- I had lots of doubles, triples and even 4s and 5s.

Last thoughts: very worried about the problem areas. And very excited and nervous about the coming months.

Best wishes for a good result. I had my procedure done in May with Dr Demirsoy. I had a small area of heavy scabbing and so far with limited growth in that area - I had to use an antibiotic. I hope it doesn't affect your overall outcome. Good luck.

Hi

Today its been exactly 3 months. 4 pictures follow, with and without flash and a close up of problem area.

Update: after speaking with the doctor, he said he thought the hairs in the problem area are dead. I thought so too. He said I could pull out the dead hairs if they came out easily. I considered going to a dermatologist about it but since they came out so easily I didnt go. I think I pulled out around 200 hairs. I am resigned to accept that the problem area wont grow as well as the other areas.

Good news is that the Doctor and Mr. Weber have agreed to fix this area for me in a small second operation, free of charge which I am very happy for. I thought I would try to combine an Istanbul vacation with the next small op.

So its reached the 3 month mark, this is when people say the growing starts, hoping for the best. I hope some of you experienced posters can comment on my progress so far. Thanks for the interest feldhegast. I will try updating once every month.

QUOTE=Dolph1969;2455239]Did Demirsoy say if this was common? It looks very clean after your head wash . Did this develop over a few days?

No. Mr Weber said they had a similar case two years ago! Typical of my luckQUOTE=Dolph1969;2455239]Did Demirsoy say if this was common? It looks very clean after your head wash . Did this develop over a few days?

No. Mr Weber said they had a similar case two years ago! Typical my luck...something this rare must happen to me. Im not sure when it developed. Im guessing after 2 days.... Im not sure when it developed. Im guessing after 2 days

Leftygolfer: he said that the hairs were probably dead. The ones in the problem area which was infected. Im guessing 200 hairs I pulled out. I think there are more dead hairs, but im not sure and confident enough about that fact to pull them out.

New pictures from 2 days ago. 4 months and 1 day.

Can experience users PLEASE give their view and comment, I know a lot of people view the thread, I would appreciate your evaluation as well.

NOTE:

I dont try to "hide" anything. Ive kept my hair short to easier track my progress, I dont have a combover to try anything. I can do that later when the result is final. I take pictures both with a flash and without to give you a good idea of the result.

I am nervous about the result and hope to hear from you.

Blablaman thank you for sharing your experience with us.

I think you are looking great in just four months :)

I just have a question about your scabs!

I have undergone hairtransplant surgery recently and my transplanted area looked really bad from day one. It is full of scabs now. it is clotted blood covering my entire new transplanted hair.

I am wondering when did your scabs fall off and what did you do to clean up your transplanted area?

I would be appreciated if you can help me.

thanks

Hi, thank you for your comment. I think my scabs fell off after around 8-10 days. I advise you to be in touch with your doctor regularly and send him pictures - to get the best possible treatment for your situation

really nice growth for 4 months - even with your "problem area" - you should have good coverage.. best of luck and continued growth!

Thank you for your assessment, I hope you're right :)

Did anyone mention that you might have had necrosis? Your experience looks similar to the one from Dr. Umar.

I hope this works out for you.

Thank you. I had a look at the link. I think I might have had something similar in a smaller area? I don't know for sure. Its interesting to hear that he had it fixed after 6 months. I hope I can get a good result as well. That was encouraging. Thank you.

Interesting. I had a small area like this (.75 cm) on my hairline. I sent a photo to my surgeon who told me not to worry about it. I'm only 1 month out. I wonder if this will be a patch where hair won't grow. It was hard to tell if it was a heavy scab or small blood blister. Now I'm worried that any hair transplanted in this area won't grow. Did you doc say any areas like this represent areas that will not grow?
