Senior Member Aftermath Posted July 20, 2020 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 20, 2020 I found these on my computer earlier, which demonstrate how bad my hair loss pattern was. This was 1 year after 2k grafts were put in the front third by dr farjo before the dr hasson repair. The one is a bit blurry but you can still see the weak areas

Good for you. my sense is that your results had a lot to do with your use of finasteride as well. Really a testament to what fin+ HT can accomplish in the right conditions (for those that can tolerate fin and are willing to take on the small risk associated with its use). have you remained side effect free for the 12ish years you’ve been on it? Yeah I have, thankfully no sides and no finishing effects. It is worth noting though that I’d been on fin for over a year prior to the hasson op and 4- 6 months before the farjo op, so the pic I posted above of my hair loss was around 16-18 months into fin treatment. So while it’s maintained hair I don’t think it’s grown any back and so I don’t think it’s actually enhanced the hasson results to any major extent. That’s important to note, cause I thought, and many people assume you’re a good responder to fin. But if you were already on it for an extended period of time, these results are pure transplants. Yes mate, it was well over a year before any hasson work, so unless I was a very late responder, which is unlikely then it’s all transplant

My barber doesn’t really use the shaver it’s a hand cut but you can see the back and sides on the previous page, I can go fairly short. Yes I’ve been on minix way before the farjo pics and then started taking the both together a few months before the farjo procedure, the hasson procedure was then about 12-13 months after that. Neither of them seemed to grow a thing back but the addition of fin seemed to stabilise it

But if you were already on it for an extended period of time, these results are pure transplants. I'd disagree with this a bit. Don't get me wrong, HW clearly hit this out of the park, and their transplant work here makes up the bulk of what @Aftermath is now enjoying. Fin alone won't give you that hairline if you were already balding to the extent that he was. But, some studies indicate that finasteride continues to improve hair appearance and density over years of treatment, beyond just the 12-18ish months that you need to be on it to see results. So his AGA could very well have continued to improve over a period of time that dovetailed with his series of HTs. If you look at the pics he recently posted that show his hair after the Farjo procedure, you can see areas of pretty extensive miniaturization (but not quite bald yet) that likely still had a chance to revive/improve from blocking DHT over the longterm. I also think that fin improves the state of donor hair as well, I know mine certainly gained and then lost some thickness and sheen when I started and then stopped fin. This has an impact as well. Again, I don't think these were the primary factors here, but I do think they can make a significant difference and I don't think you can attribute all of this amazing result strictly to the surgical work (which again, was awesome, don't get me wrong). Just my two cents. Either way, happy for you @Aftermath and I'm sure you're continuing to inspire many suffering from MPB to take the HT plunge.

Maybe, although the weak area you can see on the pics pre hasson was the area he addressed in its entirety with around 4000 (I forget the exact number) grafts on my first procedure with him and when that grew in I had no weakness in that area aside from a bit in the crown which was addressed at a later date
