Hello everyone,

I am here to share my story + hair transplant results, and my fight against baldness, in which i hope i can support other people.

My hairloss began when i was 17/18 years old, i had a big amount of thick curly hair. My hair started getting thinner and thinner. Eventually i shaved my hair short when i was 21 years old, this made me realize the intensity of the problem. I tried finasteride and minoxidil and got side effects that convinced me to stop these drugs.

I was so sick of it, diffusion in a nw5/6 pattern exactly like my uncle ( he still has high sides though so im hoping they won't drop for me eventually) that i finally made the decision for a hair transplant.

I know a lot will say that im too yough for a hair transplant and i do understand it, but almost bald at 23 kinda sucks :P. So i went for the transplantion around 5 weeks ago where the doctor discussed the plans with me, According to him i have very good and thick, curly donor hair and also a small head which in turn lowers the receipient area in cm2. The density is not very high but that doesnt matter for me i dont expect a youth hair line with super density i just want hair where i can sprinkle some toppik in if i need it. so im trying to be conservative and not dump all the grafts in the hairline because that's gonna look bad in a few years.

As maintanance i use minoxidil 5% and Folligain tabs (vitamins, saw palmetto ,betta sisterol, nettle leaf, biotin etc.) hoping it can maintain a little hair. I do notice some decrease in sexual arousal (tabs) but less then using finasteride. So i'll keep it.

Regards :)

I feel for you man, I'm 30 and I know how it feels being bald young, 2,300 grafts will give you some coverage, I think it was smart not to dense pack the front, especially since you will more than likely lose more hair, the way you placed your grafts will make it look natural because it'll look like a natural progression. Have you considered adding nizoral to your hairloss stack?

Dear all,

Again a small update, its almost week 7 now and not much has changed compared to last week. I do notice some small hairs growing near my temples and the shedding of very tiny colorless hairs everywhere. Could this be a minox shed?

Keep you posted!

Sooo again an update, hopefully you dont get crazy by it :)

Ive past the 2 months mark and i notice that there are hairs growing on my temples which were completely bald pre-op. its all beginning to look better, i get compliments from people that say that i already look better than pre-op. So thats always nice to hear :) i hope that the real hard growth will come in the upcoming months.

Hey mate,

I know what you feel. Getting bald in a young age sucks so much. I'm 21 and a NW3.5V, I'd say. Thanks god my hair loss has stabilized since last year when I got on propecia. I'm planning to have my HT next year.

Keep us updated and good luck :)

Your hair looks good in these last pics, btw

Hair is looking good dude.

The part I'm very interested in is the first few weeks. Looking at your HT at week 2 it seemed to have really calmed down in terms of redness and any flaky areas - at week 2 would you say that no one you knew would have known you had the HT or was it still identifiable if friends/colleagues were in your close proximity?
