Bald spot or hair whurl?

Recommended Posts

Noticed this recently and have been worried since. Wondering if it is either a bald spot or a natural hair whurl and i have no reason to worry? The only male member of my family who is bald is my uncle, and my father has a natural high hairline. Any feedback would be great.

I vote Whurl but a very small part of me is unsure. Keep an eye on it over time...But don't get obsessed with it :)

Whorl. I have a similar spot. It's very off center, like mine. Patterned baldness is usually more symmetrical to the traditional balding pattern. I see no loss.

Whorl. Mine is almost EXACTLY like that; a little off center, see-through scalp. It's stayed exactly the same since I first noticed it in college (I'm now 32). Some people have those nice, tight whorls that have perfect scalp coverage, but others sort of splay in all directions and show some scalp. I'd be shocked if that's a bald spot opening up.

I also think it is a whorl. Now be on your way and enjoy your great head of hair :)

Based on the placement alone, I vote whorl as well. It's very off centered and would be a strange place for balding to start - almost in the back of your head. I'd really be surprised if it turned out to be balding.

On a side note - you seriously do have a great head of hair - making lots of us guys on the board quite envious, I'm sure.
