Dr. Bijan Feriduni Posted April 29, 2015 Share Posted April 29, 2015 2 FUT procedures performed on a 60 year old Caucasian female with: - A receding hairline and scarring in the temporal area after a facelift and forehead lift - Donor density of ca. 72-84 FU/cm2 - Hair diameter of ca. 50-60 microns Treatment plan: -1st Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 2200-2400 FU to reconstruct and lower the entire hairline and temporal peaks (procedure performed on January 4th, 2010) -2nd Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 1500-1800 FU to add density to the hairline and temples (procedure performed on April 14th, 2011) 1st Performed procedure (January 4th, 2010): A Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 2456 FU * 717 single hair FU * 1462 double hair FU * 277 triple hair FU 2nd Performed procedure (April 14th, 2011): A Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 1517 FU * 465 single hair FU * 810 double hair FU * 242 triple hair FU Double layer closing with PDS 4-0 absorbable sutures; Parallel incisions (single, double and triple units) were made in custom-sized blades technique (~Cutting Edge blades of 0.75mm – 0.9mm) Nota bene: The importance of choosing the right hair color to minimize the contrast between hair and skin color in order to create a good optical density clearly shows on the pre- and postoperative pictures.
