Senior Member therambler Posted July 28, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted July 28, 2014 Yeah I prob wasnt as dilligent with the regular spraying as I should have been. I dont think it should have any effect on the result though just doesnt look as clean. Pretty sure I havent lost any grafts or anything (frantically touches wood!) Senior Member phantom777 Posted July 29, 2014 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 29, 2014 The day before my suture removal. The donor area is mostly covered with hair, so am not sure if its very clear in the pic. And I did not bother removing the scabs much. Senior Member phantom777 Posted July 29, 2014 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 29, 2014 Finally the day to remove my sutures. I had wanted to go to Chicago to get my sutures removed as it is just 3 hrs drive, but then my work did not permit me to. Tom, the manager said he will find out someone locally and he found out someone ( a top plastic surgeon in my area ) and that too just 4 mins of drive from my work place. So i scheduled an appointment for today and I left my office at 9:15 am and by 9:45 I was back to work . For a second, the nurse was like where's the suture as I had a lot of hair on my donor and it was not easily seen. It was pain free and they said Dr K did a very good job of having a very thin line. I have tried to take a few pics of my donor after removing the sutures today. There's virtually no pain there and I think its healing good. If the pics are not clear enough, let me know and I'll try taking a few more again. Let me know your thoughts about how you think its healing and if you see any shockloss. 1st FUT - Raymond Konior (April 2014) | 2953 grafts | # of hairs: 5939 (1's: 595, 2's: 1730, 3's: 628) 2nd FUT - Ron Shapiro (Nov 2020) | 2527 grafts | # of hairs: 4967 ( 1's: 599, 2's: 1416, 3's: 512) Finasteride 1mg MWF | Nizoral shampoo twice a week

Senior Member phantom777 Posted July 31, 2014 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 31, 2014 Finally got the exact graft count with the 1's 2's and the 3's. I was wrong about the graft count by 14 grafts. But then I was dizzy at the end of the procedure and almost managed to recollect the graft count correctly If someone could help me with how to change the title of this thread to correct the graft count, I can correct it. So as my signature says Single: 595 Two’s: 1730 Threes: 628 Total : 2953 grafts I have seen people getting 4's as well which I have not got. Not sure if its a big factor or not. I am not very knowledgeable about what each count means but I guess more the 2's and 3's , the thicker it would look. I also got the pre op pic from the office which correctly describes how my hair is. I used to grow my hair very long and it might appear thick in the pics I have posted before due to the light settings and the length. As you can see here the total top was almost gone and mostly had dying hairs and the ones left were very brittle and diffused. I have also attached the immediate post op pic which I took but not in the same angle, for a comparison purpose to show how the grafts were placed. 1st FUT - Raymond Konior (April 2014) | 2953 grafts | # of hairs: 5939 (1's: 595, 2's: 1730, 3's: 628) 2nd FUT - Ron Shapiro (Nov 2020) | 2527 grafts | # of hairs: 4967 ( 1's: 599, 2's: 1416, 3's: 512) Finasteride 1mg MWF | Nizoral shampoo twice a week

I think you are going to be really happy with this result. I actually met Dr. Konior this month and he is undoubtedly a passionate, intelligent, no-nonsense, and dedicated surgeon. He spent over an hour speaking with me (after a complicated procedure, Tom informed me) about alllll kinds of topics, not only hair and I never for one second felt that he was trying to get me out of the room so he could finish up his day. A fascinating human being and his results speak for themselves.

I had a few in mind (without much research) but upon looking into the forums, Dr Konior's name sprung up everywhere and then I saw his results and made up my mind to meet him. I actually ran out of questions during the consultation with Dr K and he was just waiting there for me to ask more. Most of the docs I had sent my pics had told me I would need like 3500ish + but none of them took into consideration my age (30 yrs). Only Dr K did and he said we need to go conservative and he explained in very details its importance with respect to my age. And I also had kind of a diffused hair loss and planting more hair could result in a bigger shockloss. This was one factor which actually played a big part coz I really felt he was thinking about my benefit and my long term and not just just plant hair and forget about it. From there on, I just told him to do what he thinks was best for me as I was sure he would balance out what's best for me with my expectations. And I need to wait just less than a year to confirm that my decision was right 1st FUT - Raymond Konior (April 2014) | 2953 grafts | # of hairs: 5939 (1's: 595, 2's: 1730, 3's: 628) 2nd FUT - Ron Shapiro (Nov 2020) | 2527 grafts | # of hairs: 4967 ( 1's: 599, 2's: 1416, 3's: 512) Finasteride 1mg MWF | Nizoral shampoo twice a week
Senior Member phantom777 Posted August 4, 2014 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 4, 2014 (edited) So it has been 2 weeks now and the scabs have gone completely. The hair is growing longer bit by bit. I see a few hairs starting to fall off after I had a good bath and massage on the head. I guess since its past 2 weeks, I can expect more of it to fall off. I am also seeing redness on the scalp. It does not concern me as of now as I am wearing a cap to work.Starting next week, I will be moving to a new city and start working there and i will have a haircut by end of week 3 and see if I can conceal the transplant. If not I might say I am having a medical condition and would like to wear a hat for a few weeks. I took a close up of my scalp to see whats going on there (pic attached) and I could see different lengths of hair. A few were long, a few short, and a few like they are just babies. I asked my doctor why this difference and he said hair grows asynchronously, as in each hair has a cycle of its own and grows at different rates and goes into resting at different times. And since I had a few existing hair here and there, it might look of different length when looked closely. When I feel my donor, i kind of feel there is a small bump above the donor line. I asked my doc if its something to worry about. He said he can't comment on it without seeing and that it might not be something to worry about unless its tender or getting bigger. I am not sure now if its a bump or if i feel its a bump coz there is no hair on the donor area and it's giving an illusion of being a bump because of the sudden fall in hair. I will have a second person take a look at it today and see if they find anything odd going on there. Has anyone experienced this kind of bump feeling above the donor line? Senior Member phantom777 Posted August 8, 2014 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 8, 2014 So I had my haircut today. I don't think I can carry out this look without a hat when I for work to my new work place on Monday as my top looks really odd with scattered hair.I don't find all of them with equal length and I might end up wearing a hat . I know I had entered my ugly duckling phase like 10 years back when I started loosing hair but I guess now I am in some super ugly duckling phase . I was able to kind of hide the donor scar with toppik and then had some fun with it too as you can see in the last 2 pics My donor area is giving an illusion to me of it being having a bump on top of it. I guess time would heal it. I am still waking up in between at night to change my position. So just worried about the donor side for now and hoping it to heal soon but i guess the donor is what heals the last 1st FUT - Raymond Konior (April 2014) | 2953 grafts | # of hairs: 5939 (1's: 595, 2's: 1730, 3's: 628) 2nd FUT - Ron Shapiro (Nov 2020) | 2527 grafts | # of hairs: 4967 ( 1's: 599, 2's: 1416, 3's: 512) Finasteride 1mg MWF | Nizoral shampoo twice a week
Senior Member Gram Posted August 8, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 8, 2014 Looking good! I am considering a procedure with Dr. Konior this fall. The work on its own/results are enough to warrant a procedure with him. The fact that you have little to no redness at this point is icing on the cake and a godsend for those of us who can't stay cooped up for several weeks. Watching with great interest. Senior Member phantom777 Posted August 8, 2014 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 8, 2014 Good choice of surgeon buddy. Dr K's work is very clean. My donor scar is healing super fast and even using my dslr cam, I have to zoom in really much to find a trace of the scar. The first day after removing my sutures ( day 12), my bro was finding it difficult to find the scar and I was like, dude check where I have short hair, the scar would be somewhere there 1st FUT - Raymond Konior (April 2014) | 2953 grafts | # of hairs: 5939 (1's: 595, 2's: 1730, 3's: 628) 2nd FUT - Ron Shapiro (Nov 2020) | 2527 grafts | # of hairs: 4967 ( 1's: 599, 2's: 1416, 3's: 512) Finasteride 1mg MWF | Nizoral shampoo twice a week

Senior Member phantom777 Posted August 13, 2014 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 13, 2014 So I joined my new company on Monday and boy o boy, I have never seen myself balder in my life.I think my transplanted hair is falling off at an ultra pace and i might have some shockloss too as I never remember seeing myself this bald. I knowingly kept the side and back hair a little thicker than the top (blade 3) so that it would be less obvious when i apply toppik to conceal the scar. The scar concealment pretty much worked well and the only problem with that hair extra hair around was it made my top look even balder and me even older. But I am fine with it as of now since I did not want to answer any questions which would lead them to know I did a hair transplant. Only one lady kept looking at my head while talking to me but then she was like in her 50's so I dont care much lol.So far I have jelled in myself with the people around me and made sure I am not aware of my hair transplant and super ugly head so as to keep up my positive spirit .I will update with pics in 2 days ( 1 month mark). 1st FUT - Raymond Konior (April 2014) | 2953 grafts | # of hairs: 5939 (1's: 595, 2's: 1730, 3's: 628) 2nd FUT - Ron Shapiro (Nov 2020) | 2527 grafts | # of hairs: 4967 ( 1's: 599, 2's: 1416, 3's: 512) Finasteride 1mg MWF | Nizoral shampoo twice a week

Senior Member phantom777 Posted August 14, 2014 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 14, 2014 Thanks for the comforting words hairfarmer. I knew I would have some shock loss, but looking at my head now, i feel like going and hiding in a cave for the next 3-4 months lol.. Senior Member phantom777 Posted August 18, 2014 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 18, 2014 The mayans predicted it. The surgeons confirmed it. The patients re confirmed it. And I just went through it :eek: Shockloss and hair going to resting phase  I feel like am carrying some dirt on my head now and I have never seen myself as ugly as this before lol. Luckily this has been the best time to join a new working place. No one had seen me before the transplant and one bothers about my head and i guess I am the only one bothering about it. I go to the restroom like atleast 5-6 times a day, only to check how my head is looking ;P As of now all I am waiting for is to get back the hair I had before, so that I could atleast cover a bit.I guess right now I look like a norwood 5 or 6. I am not able to apply toppik on my hair now as it really looks like dirt. I also started using aloe vera gel since last week as I had noticed redness occuring on my head. I am staying alone as of now due to work and so i had to take the pics myself. Sorry if it did not come well or if I did not cover all proper angles. Tried my best. Changes i noticed this month ** very small hair growth (only my existing hair) **the transplanted hair seems to have all shed. **seems like I had shock loss as i had diffused hair loss and had to be transplanted in between the hairs **seems like my crown lost hair too. Not sure if I had this extent of hair loss in my crown before the transplant. **noticed small islands of hair where my pre existing hair slowly started growing. My doctor said those were the areas I actually had some hair left lol. ** numbness in the donor area reducing and kind of able to sleep on my back head at times. ** itching at the donor area. I guess it might be a sign of healing. ** redness reducing. Maybe due to aloe vera gel that I am applying. 1st FUT - Raymond Konior (April 2014) | 2953 grafts | # of hairs: 5939 (1's: 595, 2's: 1730, 3's: 628) 2nd FUT - Ron Shapiro (Nov 2020) | 2527 grafts | # of hairs: 4967 ( 1's: 599, 2's: 1416, 3's: 512) Finasteride 1mg MWF | Nizoral shampoo twice a week
