Shedding twice

Recommended Posts

My question is:

Is it ???normal??? for the transplanted hair to fallout twice or more before starting its normal growth cycle?

Im 12 weeks post HT. The transplanted grafts started to fall out about week 2 and almost all was gone at week 4-5. I have been in the doldrum state with a lot of pimples on the recipient area. I started to see new growth already at week 6 and was naturally very excited. The transplanted hair was comming in thick and dark (like it was in the donor area). However, the transplanted hair only seems to be getting a ??" before falling out again. It has been like is the last 6 weeks. So depressingicon_frown.gif

Should I be worried or anything I can do?

PS. Im not on minoxidil or finasteride. (nor was I pre HT).

Need more hair-

Most of my transplanted hair has jumped ship, but some remained and continued to grow. Some of these hairs that have held on have since fallen out.

Some of the original hairs that fell out early on (your first shed) may have had more of the original hair shaft left below the surface--it broke off so to speak. This left over piece of hair finally made its way out looking like new growth and then simply fell out. This is just an idea of what could be happening.

Like you, I am also getting a lot of pimples. Many times, a small piece of hair comes out when I pop them. They are not fun are they??

Things will get better. Unfortunately this is not a fast process. Hang in there and the results will come!!

Thank you for the reply, Eman. Actually to me it sounds like a very plausible explanation, because in my first shed I noticed that the ???root??? of the hair shaft was dark and bent, and not white like when I shed a ???normal??? hair.

What did your hair root look like during your initial shed?

Damn this means that I am way behind schedule from seeing new growth.

My initial shed was the same as yours, the end of the shaft was bent or curled.

Your second shed could also mean there is "activity" going on below the surface. In other words, the new hair wanting to surface.

We are still very early in the process. And yes, the waiting sucks!

Take care
