ryanGravity
Hi Guys I need some help , I've consulted a hair transplant surgeon and I was told I am not a candidate for a hair transplant as I have gaps of thinning hair rather than bald patches, (if the surgeon was to make incisions he would risk damaging the existing hair follicles. He also gave me a script for Propecia. However, he said I was an ideal candidate for the PRP treatment. I've went for one PRP treatment session so far. My question is if the PRP treatment is unsuccessful what are my other options?
Senior Member JohnnyDrama Posted April 7, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted April 7, 2014 It's difficult to say for sure without knowing more or seeing photos, but you should just give the medication a chance to work and see where you're at in 12 months or so. You should also get on Minoxidil too, and maybe try out some supplements like MSM and biotin. Every little helps, and even if they improved the calibre of your hair slightly, it would possibly make a noticeable cosmetic effect given your type of loss. It sounds like you may have diffuse pattern of loss, which is often more difficult to treat as patterns vary. 2,200 FUE + PRP with Dr Bisanga - BHR Clinic, 22-23 August 2013 - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171950-my-fue-2-200-prp-dr-bisanga-bhr-clinic.html Current Regimen: - Rogaine 5% Foam 2x daily - Jasons Restorative Biotin Shampoo 2x daily / Nizoral 2% 2x weekly - Nettle Root 500mg, MSM 1500mg, Biotin 5mg, Multi Vit, Omega
Dr. Glenn Charles
Never hurts to try and stabilize your situation for a year or so first and then get re-evaluated. Getting a second opinion is also a good idea. Dr. Glenn Charles is a member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians
