Dr. Carlos K. Wesley (NYC) recently authored the chapter "Androgenetic alopecia" in one of the leading physician reference textbooks in the field of dermatology: Treatment of Skin Disease, 4th Edition (Elsevier). His chapter not only provides an overview of the most common form of hair loss plaguing men and women, but also cites the best and most influential peer-reviewed articles that inform others about diagnosis and treatment of androgenetic alopecia.

This textbook is unique in its format: equipping physicians with not only standard treatment strategies, but also second-and-thrid-line therapies for instances when other alternatives fail. Dr. Wesley covers the efficacy of current medical treatments as well as the various scenarios in which surgical hair restoration may be the most appropriate form of treatment.
