MY NEW 2579 FUE HT - Dr. Rahal

I am an aspiring actor who has been battling hair loss for a few years now. I don't want to get into all the details as everyone who battles hair loss knows, it's not a very fun time. It depressing and it lowers your self-esteem and self-confidence. I am 27 and after a year or so of consideration, I finally decided to go through with the procedure. I have heard many great things about Dr. Rahal and his team. He has had great results thus far and his reputation speaks for itself. I was told that 2500 grafts were enough because I was only thinning in the front and my hairline receded quite a bit. I'm not looking for the density of a 16 year old, I just want to have a framed face and be able to style my hair without having to hide the bald spots or pull some crazy comb-over. Anyway, I felt great about the procedure and I can safely say that I have had no regrets with it at all. Dr. Rahal gives you realistic expectations and he clarifies that not everyone will have the same results. (That's obviously the risk you take with these HT's)

I have attached some before pics and some post-op pics. Not the greatest quality but I wouldn't mind hearing what people think. I will post updates on a regular basis so that you can follow me in my journey to new hair! LOL :)

Looks real good! I think you'll be a happy camper:D! How far post-op are the after pics?

The pictures with my head shaved are 7 days post-op. I will be putting up the 30 days next and follow up at 3-4 months.

FUE2579 - congrats on your HT - looks great at this stage, all the best.

Are you on any meds after the HT? Prppecia, Rogaine etc? Would you mind sharing?

Also - which location of Dr.Rahal did you get operated in?

Best,

-Z

I am not on any meds. I don't take Propecia and I am not using Rogaine. Dr. Rahal told me that my hair would still grow even if I don't use rogaine. My regimen consists of healthy eating, daily exercise and some natural vitamins and mineral supplements. I am nearing the 2 month mark and the results thus far look promising. It is the dreadful "ugly duckling" stage and it is depressing as shit! LOL (excuse my language) I will post pictures soon to update you guys. Thanks!

My hair loss is very similar to yours -except I have some crown loss and I am 39 yrs old.

Will be looking forward to your updates and pics.

Hey guys.

It's just been a little over 3.5 months. Here is my progress so far, I've included some pre-op photos from the clinic. I am not on any meds and I haven't used rogaaine. FYI...the 3.5 month pics are taken with my Iphone 4 with flash. Some input would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Thanks, Yaz!

Good luck to you, my friend! I have a question, are you on any meds? Propecia, rogaine? I'm just curious because I don't use anything. I was worried about any side effects so I decided not to even bother. My hair loss doesn't look too bad. I'm 28 but have never been on any meds, thats pre and post op. Anyone's input would be appreciated. Thanks guys! :D

hey guys.

I'm almost 4 months post op and I've noticed that the back of my head (donor area) has had some increased shedding. I notice it a lot when I'm taking a shower. It's not patchy, could this be shock loss? I'm not on any meds nor do I use rogaine. Anyone's input would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, here are my 4.5 month pics.

I've noticed that the hair on top, native hair, is thinner than it was pre-op. I'm hoping this is shockloss and that it will regain its thickness and density back to its original state. I've noticed a bit of shockloss on the right side of the donor area and not so much on the left. The hair is laying flat and flowing forward, my natural direction of the hair. However, when I run my fingers through it and pull it up, it is looking rather thin. Again, it wasn't like this pre-op. One of my other concerns is behind the widows peak. I really hope that everything works out in the end. I find myself still looking in the mirror, always thinking about it etc. I need to try and relax. I keep thinking how the final product will look like. Will I look normal? Will I look stupid? etc, etc. Damn thoughts!!! What do you guys think of my progress thus far? Is it looking promising? Are my concerns legitimate? Am I just tripping out? Lol

P.S...Does shockloss take 4,5,6 months to recover? Longer? Can anyone please look at the pics and tell me what they think? Any input would be great guys, I'd really appreciate it.

Mate your tripping!! It's only 4.5 months if it's the same in another 4.5 months then you'd of expected more, but for the time your at it's looking good!! I had shockloss in my donor that took 6 months to regrow but it regrew just fine!! Your now at that stage where you'll be comparing your results at this stage to others thinking mines not as good, don't! Mine gradually month on month improved at most between 8-10 months some have great success at 6 then barely change after that!!

Chill out, ride it out, it's gonna be good!!!

Thanks for the quick reply, hairsopening. What do you think about the native hair though? Did you have weak native hair after the HT and it thickened up to its original state? That's what concerns me mostly. I hope the native hair recovers. What do you think? Anyone?

Yep, shockloss but all came back, yours looks just fine! It's a different length from your pre op photos but looks as it should!! Seriously we all suffer these anxieties it's normal, just try not to over think it, easier said then done and I had times I obsessed over it and it makes you crazy!!!! In the end it will work out im sure, and if it's doesn't then worry then but don't worry at this early stage it's not an indication of your end result!!
