1 mg Propecia

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Just wondering does Propecia only come in 1 mg pills or is there anything stronger? Not really seeing much benefit to the drugs. Nearly a year gone by...

Ratha,

The 1mg dose is what has been tested and approved by the US FDA. Propecia - as a brand name finasteride - only comes in a 1mg dose. There is also a 5mg finasteride tablet available under the brand name "Proscar." Many hair loss sufferers obtain prescriptions for Proscar and break the pill into 4 different pieces. This means they're taking (approximately) 1.25mg of finasteride per day.

why isn't dutasteride approved for hair loss? Anyone know if there is plans to make that official?

GSK are currently doing a 12 month phase 3 avodart trial using 0.5mg ED. So it could be released in 2015/16 for baldness. Im nearly 8 months in of 0.5mg of avodart ED and have seen no regrowth.
