Senior Member scooter Posted October 1, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted October 1, 2013 Hello everyone,I'm a returning here and this is my 1st post in well over 6 years.I have begun searching for advice and a surgeon here in Texas 1st.I have seen and read about Dr.Arocha and really like what I see.I was hoping to get some advice here as I plan for a second surgery.I am 43 years old.I was using propecia and was wanting to get a feel of how many grafts I may need in 1 or possibly 2 more surgeries. Was thinking about 2500 to start and maybe another 2500 in a future 3rd precedure. The 1st picture was pre 1st surgery, less than 2000 FU's .The last 2 are recent as I am planning my next precedure.I was told that I have enough donor for a few more precedures. What do you all think? Thank you Scooter 1st HT 1973 FUT's with Dr.Robert Mcclellan 6/28/2007 *unfortunately I have no info on hair count on my 1st surgery .. 2nd HT 3026 FUT's with Dr. Bernadino Arocha 1/9/2014 1's - 797 2's - 3700 3's - 246 5634 hairs http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/attachment.php?attachmentid=54945&d=1389315686 3026 FUTs 1 day HT#2 post op frontal picture

Senior Member Britanium Posted October 1, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted October 1, 2013 Hi I started off with the same loss as you appear to have in the first pic. I added approx 2200 via FUT on first HT. So for next HT i went for 3300 again via FUT this provided a good result. However given the option i would have chosen FUE for 2nd surgery. Instead i had FUE for 3rd HT. So i would think approx 3000/3500 FUE would give you a good result.
Senior Member scooter Posted October 1, 2013 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 1, 2013 Thanks for the reply.Sounds Iike you had a good plan.I am thinking 2500 to help fill in the frontal and the next 2500 go for crown and middle area, if I have and need that much.. 1st HT 1973 FUT's with Dr.Robert Mcclellan 6/28/2007 *unfortunately I have no info on hair count on my 1st surgery .. 2nd HT 3026 FUT's with Dr. Bernadino Arocha 1/9/2014 1's - 797 2's - 3700 3's - 246 5634 hairs http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/attachment.php?attachmentid=54945&d=1389315686 3026 FUTs 1 day HT#2 post op frontal picture

Senior Member Spanker Posted October 3, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted October 3, 2013 First, were you pretty happy with your 1st procedure? Have you lost a lot in the last 6 years? Also, you said you "was" using propecia, does this mean you are off? I thing you are looking at 3500 on your frontal 2/3 and leaving the crown fairly open, then you may be able to come back and hit the crow. Depending on your donor characteristics, that is the route I would take. I think 2500 would help, but that extra 1000 grafts will make a big difference, I would really suggest getting on propecia if you are not, you have an established pattern and can probably consider it gone without meds especially, at which point, I really feel that 2500 is not enough. Good luck. I am an online representative for Dr. Raymond Konior who is an elite member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians. Senior Member scooter Posted October 3, 2013 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 3, 2013 (edited) Thanks Spanker, this is exactly why I am wanting some advice. 1st of all, I am happy with my 1st HT.I knew it was going to be thin in appearance but managed to do well with concealers,Dermatch and Toppiks and I work for neither I read I need to state that somewhere, but thank heaven for those products.I got off the meds for almost 6 months not knowing how quickly things start to get thin again. So I ordered more but got delayed with the shipment.Just recieved them yesterday and will probably never stop again. So maybe the propecia will help me out and I can start with the 3000 to 3500 for the frontal region, then finish up with the crown could be a plan, I hope I should still have enough donor hair to complete the crown. Senior Member Spanker Posted October 3, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted October 3, 2013 Keep in mind that who you get a transplant is as important as the plan. If you are not getting a response from a local doctor, don't just go to anyone. Reach out and explore your options and make sure that you are choosing the right doctor for your needs.
