Senior Member JohnnyDrama Posted September 28, 2013 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 28, 2013 Hi JohnnyDrama,Excellent right up! Thanks for posting and so glad it all went well for you. Good luck with the next few months. I also am having my 2000 FUE done with Dr Bisanga at BHR in 3 weeks time so reading your detailed experience has been a great insight to what i can expect in a few weeks time. Stephen at BHR has also been a great help to me so far with all his emails and support, also met him in person a few months back and to see his results first hand gives me so much confidence that i chose well with Dr Bisanga at BHR. Hey tlk, how did your procedure go mate? Will you be documenting your experience? Would be great to see a case of similar size and timeline to myself and compare our experiences! 2,200 FUE + PRP with Dr Bisanga - BHR Clinic, 22-23 August 2013 - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171950-my-fue-2-200-prp-dr-bisanga-bhr-clinic.html Current Regimen: - Rogaine 5% Foam 2x daily - Jasons Restorative Biotin Shampoo 2x daily / Nizoral 2% 2x weekly - Nettle Root 500mg, MSM 1500mg, Biotin 5mg, Multi Vit, Omega
tlk
Hi JohnnyDrama, Glad to hear everything is going well for you, looks like you are healing up really well too, now for happy growing! Everything is going well for me too thanks, the 2 day procedure went really well and i must mirror what you say as everyone at BHR was really great and made the experience so much easier to deal with. Leandro, Nathalie, and Dr Bisanga where all great during the 2 days and ofcourse Steve too who is always at the end of a phone call when needed. Great team. In the end I had 2135 grafts which included 600 beard grafts to my hair line in zones 2 and 3. My break down was mostly 1's and 2 hairs and a few 3's. I had quite a bit of miniturisation in my scalp donor so the Dr recommended we only extract just over 1500 grafts from the scalp. I am into Day 16 now and the scalp and beard donor has really healed up well, i have been using Aloe Vera too on the donor which i am sure has helped. From day 10 all my crusts fell out of the recipient and my redness all cleared up by around day 12 when I went back to work which was a relief! It's pretty much undetectable now but a little shedding has happened but nothing too bad..yet, having the buzz cut all over helps, as they say, less is more! Overall I am so glad I had it done as already feel more confident with my hairline and like you I'm getting used to this buzz cut since its the first time I have gone this short too, I'm actually liking it and may keep it buzzed for the next 3 months or so. Senior Member JohnnyDrama Posted September 29, 2013 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 29, 2013 Glad you're healing well mate. It's a pity your donor was limited but again, it's much better to have an ethical doc tell you how it is and go with nice, conservative approach.....instead of somebody promising you the sun moon and stars only to be left reeling in 5 years and beyond. We're in for a tough few months but should be worth it. I think I might actually go for another hair cut next weekend, and maybe get a 2 blade all over. I will be 6 weeks post op then so will take pics if it happens, for those interested in how a 2" looks so soon after the ht. 2,200 FUE + PRP with Dr Bisanga - BHR Clinic, 22-23 August 2013 - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171950-my-fue-2-200-prp-dr-bisanga-bhr-clinic.html Current Regimen: - Rogaine 5% Foam 2x daily - Jasons Restorative Biotin Shampoo 2x daily / Nizoral 2% 2x weekly - Nettle Root 500mg, MSM 1500mg, Biotin 5mg, Multi Vit, Omega

Hi JohnnyDrama, I'm looking forward to seeing pics if you decide to go for a 2 all over. I'm actually considering doing that myself during these early months of my own FUE procedure. Would be good to gauge what I'm in for, especially how the donor area looks. Your treatment is looking really good. Hope you're pleased. Senior Member JohnnyDrama Posted October 4, 2013 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 4, 2013 Thanks for the comments Simon. To be honest I haven't had a single regretful thought about the whole thing (yet anyway ), and that's saying a lot seeing as today is exactly 6 weeks post op........which is possible the height of the ugly duckling period! If I find the time this weekend, I will go for another cut. Either way, I'll get some 6 week photos up. If I get it cut, I'll try to do a pre/post cut pic comparison as well. Like I already mentioned, I got a 2" on the donor at the 4 week post op point, and everything looked really good. 2,200 FUE + PRP with Dr Bisanga - BHR Clinic, 22-23 August 2013 - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171950-my-fue-2-200-prp-dr-bisanga-bhr-clinic.html Current Regimen: - Rogaine 5% Foam 2x daily - Jasons Restorative Biotin Shampoo 2x daily / Nizoral 2% 2x weekly - Nettle Root 500mg, MSM 1500mg, Biotin 5mg, Multi Vit, Omega
Senior Member JohnnyDrama Posted October 5, 2013 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 5, 2013 6 Weeks Well and truly in ugly duckling territory, but soldiering through.I have yet to wear a cap since coming home from hols which is also surprising! I'm also 3 weeks into using Rogaine 5% foam again, as well as recently adding Nizoral 2% back to the regimen......so on top of the winter period approaching, my scalp is probably going through several shedding attacks at once! As you can see, my midscalp / recipient is very bare compared to the native around. Haven't yet got a chance to get to the barber again to get a 2" all over (contemplating a 1"). The sooner the better for me! Donor feels in really good shape. Redness in recipient is pretty much gone at this point I feel, and hasn't really been as issue for me for 2-3 weeks now and even then it was mild. The PRP may have played a helping hand in this too. If I get to the barbers over the next few days I'll get more pics. I intend on taking them in this location of my garden from now on so a more accurate comparison can be made periodically. 2,200 FUE + PRP with Dr Bisanga - BHR Clinic, 22-23 August 2013 - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171950-my-fue-2-200-prp-dr-bisanga-bhr-clinic.html Current Regimen: - Rogaine 5% Foam 2x daily - Jasons Restorative Biotin Shampoo 2x daily / Nizoral 2% 2x weekly - Nettle Root 500mg, MSM 1500mg, Biotin 5mg, Multi Vit, Omega

Senior Member JohnnyDrama Posted October 8, 2013 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 8, 2013 Got the hair cut again yesterday anyway. Got a 2" on top and a 1.5" on the sides and back. Very happy with donor condition 6 weeks out from HT and cut so tight, considering it is still in the early stage of the healing process. 2,200 FUE + PRP with Dr Bisanga - BHR Clinic, 22-23 August 2013 - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171950-my-fue-2-200-prp-dr-bisanga-bhr-clinic.html Current Regimen: - Rogaine 5% Foam 2x daily - Jasons Restorative Biotin Shampoo 2x daily / Nizoral 2% 2x weekly - Nettle Root 500mg, MSM 1500mg, Biotin 5mg, Multi Vit, Omega

I think the reason my hair looked 'pretty cool' shaved at the start is largely down to the fact that my midscalp is filled in with transplanted hair. If I had just shaved and had no procedure, I would have had a very sparse/thin mid-scalp area, surrounded by thicker hair. I'm 8 weeks post op today, and most ht hairs have shed so now I have that sparse look again, even though I am more comfortable with the shaved look than I would have thought pre-shave. I'm at the worst point of the ugly duckling period now though so I'm very much looking forward to growth over the coming months. I will be very tempted to keep my hair buzzed though (and it will look better once the midscalp growth has kicked in)! I'm tempted to buzz it to a 1.5" again already! I'll post photos once I hit the 2 month mark in a few days. 2,200 FUE + PRP with Dr Bisanga - BHR Clinic, 22-23 August 2013 - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171950-my-fue-2-200-prp-dr-bisanga-bhr-clinic.html Current Regimen: - Rogaine 5% Foam 2x daily - Jasons Restorative Biotin Shampoo 2x daily / Nizoral 2% 2x weekly - Nettle Root 500mg, MSM 1500mg, Biotin 5mg, Multi Vit, Omega
Senior Member JohnnyDrama Posted October 24, 2013 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 24, 2013 2 Months post-op today. As with looking at hundreds of other posted cases, I think I am at the least spectacular part of the whole process! What's helping is that I am currently busier than ever with work, doing 50-60 hr weeks and not having much chance of socialising/thinking about things is probably good right now! The past month has flown. Not much of a change over the last couple of weeks. Still 'reasonably ok' with the whole ugly-duckling thing, but its 3 weeks since my last cut so I'm hoping to buzz it before getting to the office in the morning before heading out on a work party tomorrow night. The shorter the cut, the less wary I am about my thin midscalp, so will probably just buss to 1.5" sides and back and 2" on top. Will post pics tomorrow or Saturday. 2,200 FUE + PRP with Dr Bisanga - BHR Clinic, 22-23 August 2013 - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171950-my-fue-2-200-prp-dr-bisanga-bhr-clinic.html Current Regimen: - Rogaine 5% Foam 2x daily - Jasons Restorative Biotin Shampoo 2x daily / Nizoral 2% 2x weekly - Nettle Root 500mg, MSM 1500mg, Biotin 5mg, Multi Vit, Omega
tlk
Hey JohnnyDrama, Good to hear doing well. Im 6 weeks post op today and most of mine has shedded now. The ugly duckling stage is very tough but im having mine buzzed regularly to a 1.5 all over to keep it less noticeable too. Here's to the next couple of months and hopefully less Ugly duckling times ahead

Senior Member JohnnyDrama Posted October 26, 2013 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 26, 2013 2 Months I didn't get a chance to get to the barber yesterday as I spent all day either in bed or the bathroom.....damn vomitting bug! Like I said, no real change as such so I'm hoping gradual improvements from here on in with my future monthly updates. My gfs mum during the week told me I look so much better with short hair compared how long I had it and said "It takes years off ya". I laughed, and it's good to hear. Hopefully once the midscalp regrows, there'll be another few years to come off! Another thing I'm glad to report on is that I haven't touched any concealer post op at this point. BHR suggest to try to go at least 3 months without it.....and to be honest, at this point I don't see me using the stuff for quite some time yet. Again, this is where I think getting the hair buzzed for surgery plays a massive advantage. Had I left some native hair (which originally I was hoping to), I think I would have been more tempted to use concealer to match things up. So on that front I'm very glad I buzzed initially and would highly recommend everyone to do the same for FUE (even if it's the last thing in the world you want to do - such as it was with me). 2,200 FUE + PRP with Dr Bisanga - BHR Clinic, 22-23 August 2013 - http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171950-my-fue-2-200-prp-dr-bisanga-bhr-clinic.html Current Regimen: - Rogaine 5% Foam 2x daily - Jasons Restorative Biotin Shampoo 2x daily / Nizoral 2% 2x weekly - Nettle Root 500mg, MSM 1500mg, Biotin 5mg, Multi Vit, Omega
