Hair Transplant Patient of the Week: Raphael84's 3,968 Graft FUSS with Dr. Rahal

This week's Hair Transplant Patient of the Week is Raphael84 who underwent a 3,968 graft strip procedure (Follicular Unit Strip Surgery/FUSS) with Dr. Rahal.

Nearly 5 years ago, Raphael84 grew tired of his hair loss and decided to research hair transplant surgery. After 18 months of careful research, Raphael84 confidently booked a procedure with Dr. Rahal. Unfortunately, because of work and travel commitments, Raphael84 was forced to reschedule his surgery 4 times and didn't undergo the procedure for another 4 years.

On October 9th, 2012, Raphael84 was finally able to undergo his procedure with Dr. Rahal. During surgery, Dr. Rahal was able to transplant 3,968 grafts via the strip excision method, and use these grafts to rebuild Raphael's hairline and reinforce his frontal and middle scalp.

Throughout his entire hair restoration journey, Raphael did an excellent job updating the community on his progress. Most recently, Raphael84 shared a six month update of his procedure with Dr. Rahal, and the results are excellent!

To see the 6 months results, please see the following: Raphael84 - 6 Month Update with Dr. Rahal.

To review his entire hair restoration journey, please see the following thread: Raphael84 - 3,968 Grafts with Dr. Rahal.

Raphael also kept the community updated via his Hair Loss Blog.

Please join me in congratulating Raphael84!

I agree that this is an exceptional case. Well deserved by both the pt and the doctor.

I haven't seen him online for a while.

Great result by the Dr.

2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK.

Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.

Hello,

Primarily, its an honour to have been selected for the patient of the week so I would like to express my gratitude for that. I owe the HTN and its members so much. From educating me and helping me to understand my options, to the much appreciated Dr Recommendations and the such well run message board that has allowed me to ask hundreds of questions and receive an unbelievable amount of advise from such great people. The position that I find myself in today, could have been vastly different had it not been for this very website.

Apologies for being somewhat of a stranger of the last couple of months. I know that post HT guys always have the same excuses as to why they spend less time browsing here. Whilst my reasons were in some ways conscious, others were not. In the last few months, I have moved house to a complete new area, changed job and with other factors thrown in, it has genuinely been a very busy and unique few months. The conscious part of this answer, was basically with all the current change, and this includes the new hair, I felt it was an opportunity to attempt to let go of the 3xdaily visits to HTN, at least temporarily. Over the last few years, my mind and body have been consumed with my procedure. From saving, planning, waiting, travelling, secrets, downtime etc etc... I just felt it was an opportunity to step back for a couple of months and relax about things hair related for a while. That does not mean that my HTN sabbatical is long term. For the very reasons of my words in that first paragraph, I owe HTN and its members so much, and I intend to give back with advice and words regarding my experiences. It would only be right.

My hair amazing right now. To think of the situation pre HT is almost impossible to me now. I will be posting a 9 month update in July and report on any changes and my feelings. Thanks for the interest and you will see me around here much more often, very soon.

HTN ROCKS!!!!

Raphael great to see you chiming in and to hear how happy you are with things. I can totally understand the mindset to just want to step away from the whole hair loss/ talk thing after the weariness of researching, planning a HT, the surgery, the downtime and the fretting and the waiting afterwards. Look forward to the day when I can do the same! ha

Anyway in light of the above look forward to seeing your next update just whenever you get around to it. All the best.
