Beard hair Scarring?

It seems that many FUE doctors use beard hairs but when reading Dr. Feriduni's site it states "Due to the very high risk of scarring, Dr. Feriduni does not transplant beard hairs"

 

Can anyone expound on the validity of this statement from Dr. Feriduni's website. His site states that they will only use back, chest and thigh hairs when using body hair.

 

I have seen quite a few photos of people who have had beard hairs taken from their face without scarring. I was just curious as to why one doctor or many doctors would opt for beard hair while Dr. Feriduni (Who is a well respected FUE HT doctor) refuses to use them due to the possibility of scarring?

 

I get that darker skinned people will scar easier but what about light skinned people which is what makes up probably 90% of FUE hair transplants.

Check out ej, he is the member with the most grafts extracted from his beard in order to cover his Acell wide strip scar. I dont see anything noticeable, it depends on how good is the surgeon is in extracting beard grafts with using minimal blades. Dr. Bisanga did a great job on him. Check the link below:-

I've had beard extraction from two well known docs without any scarring whatsover. Completely invisible. Another famous doc who also performs beard (one of the pioneers of BHT), told me that beard below the jawline scarring is a non-issue (at least on me! white guy) On the face and around the mouth it is more prone to scarring. I think he said, small sharp white dots can result.

 

So where is Dr. Feriduni coming from? Something must have happened.

Actually Dr. Feriduni offered me a beard hair test for around 100 grafts to implant them into my new thin side scars done by Dr, Rahal. I made condition that they should be extracted under my chin as they wont be obvious after healing.

 

By the way scar5, who were the two doctors who managed to extract beard grafts from you without any scarring. Please share... Thanks.

I agree that scarring is a non-issue if grafts are taken from below the jawline. We've never encountered any scarring in this region. Even if there was scarring, it would pretty tough to notice. Above the jawline is another story. Who'd want to risk scarring on the face? Anyone trying for grafts above jawline should do so with a small test session first.

Yes, there is more according to Bisanga clinic, you can get 800 grafts below chin in average and 2000 grafts overall from whole beard. There is more even but they cant extract all because they have to be around the edges near the bones,

I would meet people who have had beard hair removed and try to see a shaved down extraction area or closely clippered beard , smaller the diameter of punch lesser the chance of scarring

 

I have had 3000 extractions from below and above my jawline and have no visible scaring , i would try a test session from underneath your chin , see how you heal and grow

I hear that! im not Middle Eastern but I have a 5 o-clock shaddow by noon after shaving in the morning.:mad:

 

I have always hated how much facial hair I had but now that beard hair is such a common donor area for a HT im not hating it so much anymore....

I just now posted my journal from Dr Azar who is famous in Germany for beard and body hair transplants. He did one beard (or maybe body) transplant live on a German science programme called Galileo.

 

It was the first body hair transplant shown live on television in the world.

Be careful, any time you cut the skin it does leave a mark, some are just less obvious and I am talking from 19 years experience in this crazy transplant game!!
