Senior Member TommyLucchese Posted December 2, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 2, 2012 I'm not asking for speculation about how long it usually lasts, I just want to hear how it lasted for each individual who replies. I'm 4 months, 2 weeks and 2 days from my HT on the hair line / frontal third, and it's still red. It's faded a lot, up close in the mirror it looks great but when I move back I can still just see the whole new hairline from redness. Particularly when it's wet and slicked back it's just like a red band at the front of my head still. I know it'll probably be worse for me than most because of my light skin, but I just want to know how it's been for others......I don't know if I should be preparing for the redness to last up to a year or maybe even the fact it may never fade. Please note - I'm wondering when the redness was completely GONE and your scalp was normal colour with just hair on it. Not for SUBSIDED redness. My redness has subsided and faded a lot, but it's still pretty evident. 2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now. Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018. Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week. Senior Member aaron1234 Posted December 2, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 2, 2012 Yeah, I got the light, pale skin curse as well. Redness would improve gradually but not completely "go away" until around month 6 for me. My first procedure took the longest... Almost 10 months. My scalp will still show occasional signs of redness after popping out of a hot shower or an intense workout. Thus the quotes around "go away". However, I don't consider this an issue. Senior Member Buzz2 Posted December 2, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 2, 2012 Mine was pretty much gone after 10 days an I'm pretty fair skinned. It does make a return though every time I have a bath or shower. I may redness further back though , I'm not sure. If so, it's covered by existing hair. HT No1 : Nobel clinic, Gatwick 500 grafts - Terrible result, left with bumpy skin HT No2 : Marwan Saifi 1680 grafts. Great result HT No3 - Marwan Saifi 1250 grafts. Another good result. HT No4 - Hakan Doganay 2134 grafts. Result TBA Total 5134 grafts.

Senior Member MadMod Posted December 3, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 3, 2012 Great question Tommy- I was wondering exactly the same myself over the past few weeks. I'm around the 3 and 1/2 month mark now, and I currently sport a red half-circle shape at the front of my head, with an increasing number of fuzzy blonde hairs! I'm going through the self-doubt stage, hoping that the density overtakes the redness soon!

Senior Member Spanker Posted December 3, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 3, 2012 3 days. No kidding. I have olive skin. My parents are white but I am often asked what my decent is. You've had a great first few months. Thanks for the replies everyone, good to know I'm not alone. It'd be nice to as many replies as possible though......will be a nice bit of research for any new people. I wonder what the longest the redness has stayed for someone is? 2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Senior Member chrisdav Posted December 3, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 3, 2012 I think 4-5 months for me personally for it to completely disappear. Every individual is unique. 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.
