Regular Member jfox223 Posted October 20, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted October 20, 2012 Hi all, Just posting a few pics, thinking you all might care to help evaluate my degree of hairloss. I'm currently thinking an NW3 as progressed from NW2 earlier in the year. I've got some pics, though they're not of great quality. There is, as far as I'm aware, no thinning on the crown. Pretty much convinced this isn't a mature hairline, even though my forehead's always been pretty enormous with a hairline beginning above the forehead protuberances (whatever they're technically called). Would really appreciate some advice. Ideally, I'd be satisfied if it were a mature hairline, but the inwardly receding right portion of the frontal lock is a bit damning. The sides of my hair have always been widely set, and the temples pretty high also...but still, MPB is MPB
Raphael84
Its pretty tough to tell from the photos. I don't think that you should have an immediate concerns. You look to have very thick hair. But if you are losing hair, then its good to see that you are active about it, nice and early. Where are you located? I would go and see a HT recommended Doctor from this site. Just to get their in person feedback and for them to recommend if you should be considering medication at this stage. Most Doctors here will give you a free consult. Get in there early and get some professional feedback rather than regretting it later! Good luck! Regular Member Hal Posted October 23, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted October 23, 2012 Tough to tell from the images-- some pretty bad lighting. At your age and from what I can see, you don't really have a lot of options. A transplant is totally out of the question. Not only is it not needed, it would be a foolish waste of money. Additionally, it would almost certainly lock you in to a cycle of procedures that you would regret. At this stage of the game, your only real option is meds. These have their own risks, and you must do your research and become informed before using them. That's it-- meds or watch and wait. Or both. But NO transplant. RUN, don't walk, from anyone who tries to convince you that a transplant now will "let you stay ahead of the game". JMHO. Hal
